I just wanted to say thank you for doing your best! :worship: :worship:

I've recently run across a few posts that were from non-English speaking members and it really struck me that those members are taken for granted for all they have to do to post on here. I've always had patience and empathy for those posters, and I just hope that everyone else feels the same and tries to be inclusive of these posters.

I can't imagine trying to post thoughts in a completely different language! (well, a little French I know - but not enough to post it all the time!).

:bigclap:

Well Welsh is my first language but these dyas i speak more in english and write more in english.

Its just the way things are going in Wales.

I do see what you mean it must be hard trying to comunicate in a language that isn't natrual to you.

Hmm..i think if you're taught a new language as a kid or teenager, after a while it's not really that difficult to start thinking in that other language and communicate with others. I mean, as far as english is concerned (and that's my third language), i've never had any problems getting my point across.

True, but I guess the ones I'm most referring to are those who aren't fluent in English. I mean, anyone who speaks multiple languages is a star in my mind.... but the effort to try is impressive!

It ain't. It's hard for people who aren't used to many languages, but for those that are used to hear many different languages all the time, it ain't that hard.

Off course i wouldn't say i speak/write English fluently, but as long as you are able to understand what i'm trying to say that's fine for me.

Reporting JPV, from Ghent, 15 miles from a French speaking Region, 100 miles from a ENglish speaking country, 120 miles from a German speaking region,...

Quite a different situation compared to those who live in Australia, USA, ....

And off course, writing texts in English makes you practise your English a LOT.

I agree Seles.
It's a shame some of the posters with English as a mother-tongue don't communicate as well as those writing it as a foreign language.

I for one find it much easier to write in english than to talk in english :o The biggest problem I have with my english is sometimes not being able to think of the right word or the right expression bu when I'm typing I have extra time to think where as in a conversation I might stumble over my words a little

Yeah, English is my second language. My first language is Auslan (Australian Sign Language). I know it sounds like easy but I don't listen to radio, news, music, people conversation by voice, etc... it where you get learning from but I'm not. My english is improving much better.

Not to brag or anything but I have to use four languages here and I'm starting to mix them up (words come to my mind in a language instead of another or I speak italian to someone instead of English for instance  ).

I agree with Marri though, posting here has improved my English a lot.

Thank you to native English speakers for doing your best too then. :worship: :bigclap:

I learned English by watching American tv shows and cartoons when I was 6-7 years old.

Some American dude once asked me if I was Canadian because he though I had a "McGuyver-ish" accent.. I said to him "What are you talking aboot".
