Welcome to Pick-A-Winner (PAW), the Predictions game!
Playing is simple: over the course of the tournament choose any 13 matches in the Main Draw and post who you think will win them. Anyone can play, any time.
You can play the Los Angeles game or the Helsinki game, but not both.
Yes guys, we need at least 6 players, for this game to go ahead!!

like stated last week : rules are rules
how about this rule and the "Simon-formula" ?
"The Closing Time for the first match in a session is the start time for that session. The Closing Times for subsequent matches are determined by a formula. The formula is based on the total number of games played in earlier matches in the same session. Basically, three minutes are allowed for each game plus 10 minutes for each break between matches."
so, applying this formula to determine the closing time for the Kostanic-Talaja match we come to the following result : 13h + 18 games x 3 + 10 min. = 14.04 h as closing time...
so I guess your PAW was late, also that of your sister, and also the one from Oren... so replace your picks !

Listen Paellapan,
we aren't to be very strictly.
Simon has explained this rules to keep the game but we must see each match in different case.
I have followed the matches on Wta World by "Friday scores and results" and at 1.20 pm the situation was 7-5 4-0 for Douchevina, so the match was yet in progress.
We know the rules but we must to be flexible. If the dead-line is 1.04 pm by applying the rules but the before match it's not finished, the new post is regular for each player.
3 minutes for game it's the normally but you know that a game can during long time, also 7-8 minutes and 6-0 final can be longer than a 6-2, 6-3 and so on....
So, the points are valid: at 1.20 Douchevina-Cznik was still in progress!

oh come on Marco, you are just using double standards
last week (Sopot) you applied this Simon-formula to tell me I posted a PAW too late (although the match hasn't started yet, I followed the previous match too on "scores and results"...), now you say "the match hasn't started yet" so this rule doesn't apply...
this formula is the only way to determine the closing time of a match, the real starting time of a match doesn't matter ...
I hope you understand it's very dangerous not to use this rule "very strictly"...
I am only trying to help you here, if this endangers your position in the league table I'm sorry for that, but as a participating organizer you better apply the rules very strictly for yourself ;)
it's up to you : chose for a win, or chose for credibility :)

come on you, not me.
At 1.20 Douchevina-Czink was yet in progress.
In Sopot, we hadn't a live scoreboard but in Helsinki we have it.
No, it's not dangerous not to use "very strictly".
For tournament with live scoreboard it's not possible to apply this rule because, I already told, the times of the matches is different.
Douchevina-Czink was finished about after one hour and half of play even if the games played was 18.
But, want you to understand that the post for Kostanic-Talaja was made during the first match. So, I didn't know the scores (obviously).
Now I finished. Points are valid
And it's not absolutely that this formula is the only way: it depend on during the match.
And I don't choose for a win, I only choose with flexible idea.
I don't add or less points after or during the match to nobody!

well, there was a reason why Simon used this formula as a rule, and not the real starting time of a match... how are you gonna prove the exact start of the Kostanic-Talaja match afterwards ? that's the point, not the fact whether it had started or not...
if you as an organizer check the posted PAW's afterwards, you are not able to know if they were posted before or during the match, that's why Simon came up with this rule, which has the same importance whether there is a live-scoreboard or not.
clear ? :)

Helsinki's scoreboard is live with update game by game.
At 1.24 pm Douchevina was leading 7-5 4-0.
If you aren't look to Helsinki's site, I can't do nothing.
For me live scoreboard is important because Helsinki's web-site it's very efficiently.
