I must confess, I have bought only ONE 2003 album so far this year... :o That was "Vehicles and Animals" by Athlete. I must say that my favourite album will be "Paper Monsters" by Dave Gahan when I eventually buy it... (I keep meaning to buy it!! "Goodbye" is simply a magical piece of music, guaranteed to make me smile so much... :D )

BEST>>>>

White Stirpes - Elephant

Its a great album, with lots of variety. Sometimes theyslip into ust making noise, but most of its good.

Lil KIm - La Bella Maffia

Lots of great tunes, with slick production, and boobastic rhymes, which probably make this the best hip-pop offering of the year.

Missy Elliot - Under Construction

OKAY! I know its not from this year, but it rocks all the same!

WORST>>>>

Ashanti Chapter 2

ITs dull, pretty much what she did in the first album, only sluightly better, and less Ja Rule. Once again over hyped, and its hard to see how long she can carry on selling things like this.

Kelly Rowland Simply Deep

Although sometimes she hits the sweet spot, the musshy ballad stuff just doenst do it for me.

If you think the Ashanti album is good, I have to conclude that it's YOU who knows nothing about good R&B or hip-hop.

As for Beyoncé... that album is a serious let-down. Crazy In Love is one of the singles of the year, and her up-tempo stuff is almost uniformly magnificent, but that album has serious issues with crappy ballads.

Personaly I have not really listened to Ashanti's album but I love B's...I do like Ashanti's "rain on me"...I am just sick of these people from these obscure Euro countries that dont know shit about the genre putting down hip hop and r&b artist when it's clear that they are into something else...BTW, I grew up on r&b and rap...so I know EVERYTHING about it...:p

And why is that? I think you should be able to say 'crap' if you don't like it. Knowledge has nothing to do with this one. It is 'crap' for the person who thinks it's 'crap'. I'm sorry, but someone can also accuse me of not knowing good music, just because I can't stand Britney Spears... And, BTW, that 'obscure Euro country' comment was pure shit on your part...

I just bought Moodring, and Bittersweet, by Mya, and Blu Cantrell. Myas album seems to have the better tracks, but at 19 tracks long it has way to many fillers. Blu's has some really good tracks, but a few really shit ones as well, which is a shame. But overall they are both good.

Worst CD I have ever bought, I don't even know if it is from this year, but I bought it this year and it SUCKS!!!! I want to shoot the dumb piano.

Really  I like this album, that's a very enjoyable album IMO. Her interpretation is convincing, and the compositions are not so weak. I appreciate the track 10 "Wanted".

Best album- Mariah Carey-Charmbracelet ( well, i saw that people didn't realize that albums they mentioned are in 2002 for most, so i did the same :p )

Dava

Vanessa Carltons album isnt bad, it just lacks direction, and originality. You have these huge orchestral numbers like Ordinart Day, and A Thousand Miles. Then you have rocky tracks, and rolling stone covers, where she sounds like a poor mans tori Amos.

TopShotta is a fucking idiot! He blasts someone for not liking an album and then admits he hasn't even listened to it!!!!!

I on the other hand have heard the album I am about to diss and it is Beyonces. It sucks, sorry. I like a few songs on it but the girl's voice is weak and she needs to go back to the group.

Just because an album is R&B or hip-hop it doesn't guarantee its going to be a good album.

What a dumb ass.

LOSER!
