What a superb band they were, great songs like..

This Monkey's Gone to Heaven
Where is My Mind

And so on...

When they split, members spawned a number of bands... The Breeders (Kristen Hersh went on to do some god awful melancholy solo stuff that me mum always used to listen to, no wonder she went mad and hasnt worked for four years), Frank Black and The Catholics, and Belly (fronted by Tanya Donnelly)

Does anyone have that book "Rock Family Trees" as that would explain it all in a better way.

Anyway, anyone else like or liked their music?

What kind of music did they play? I've seen quite a bit of references to this band, but never heard them...

I loved the Pixies. But Kristin Hersh wasn't in the Pixies, it was Kim Deal who played bass and started the Breeders.

Kristin Hersh was in Throwing Muses, correct? With Tanya Donnelly, who then went on to "feed the tree" with Belly, right?

Ohhh Pixies :hearts:

This thread actually inspired me to turn the White Stripes off mid-song and put Trompe Le Monde on instead :D

Doolittle is fantastic :)

Apparently they're thinking of reforming.
