I start to completely doubt the official version.

What was the reason to kill them as opposite to capturing them?

Could they escape? According to report, surrounded by 200+ of US troops, they barricaded in the second floor, while the first floor was under control of USA. I assume the risk of them escaping was truly minor.

Just imagine, that you surrounded someone, who, according to your own claims, leads and coordinates the underground resistance, that is responsible for dozen of your soldier's lives. Killing that someon would certainly be a blow for resistance, while capturing that someon would give you the key to dismantling that resistance from inside. What do you prefer?

At the end, why use highpower explosives in the missiles? Why don't you use some non-demolishing neutralizers, a kind of chemicals, sleeping gas, that Russians used again Chechen terrorists in Moscow?

Something just doesn't seem right..

Yes! hang them up so all the world could see what's gonna happen to you if you're evil.

I wish they had caught them, and tortured them to death, that way they knew what it felt like for the poor ppl they tortured all these years.

thats against the american way,,, no sinking to their level

instead, we contract the torture out to countries where torture is perfectly legal

there's something to be said for keeping your hands clean. :)

Well Judge Judy always says you have to come into court with "clean hands".

lol! yup! goodness...i often wonder though how to ever do that when most times, neither hand knows what the other is doing.

Always makes sure each knows the ultimate game plan, plausible deniability! ;)

R u feeling better? Back to work and all?

I think there needs to be the option of seeing these pictures. For some people seeing is believing.

Remember an outcry in America when Iraqis showed the dead bodies of GIs? Talking about Geneva Conventions..

Ugh, no! Besides, what would those pics prove? We all know they have several body doubles. It's not that hard to be certain it's them, I think. If the DNA shows they're brothers, then we can be fairly certain it's them.

Yes, I do want to see them...Not so much for me but for the Iraqi people who do not believe that they are dead. It is fine to require DNA testing but your ordinary Arab person who is living in fear of the return of Sadaam and his sons will not understand a test showing genetic similarities. They understand seeing the bodies on the screen.

that was a bit of stretch dont you think decemberlove. I never said they all were uneducated, but come on how many Iraqi's or Arabs for that matter, would believe the US conducted genetic test and there was a match. They would think it was some kind of conspiracy that is why they are hiding the bodies. Sometimes the simplest proof is the best for all concerned.

not a stretch, thats just how i perceived it. sorry if i took it the wrong way. but yeah, i can see what youre saying on how they wouldnt believe it. pictures can just as easily be replicated thou.

these pictures are pretty pathetic. ive seen much worse on yahoo but for some reason everyone is making a big deal about these.

yes, dunk. incarceration wasn't an option.

uh can you just picture the uproar if our tax dollars went to imprison these two guys?? They just would've put them in general population and put the word out that the guards will look the other way. Um they would've been dead within hours of reaching a prison.

Just imagine how much of what US wanted to know these guys knew..

Imagine that there are several terrorists acts planned that are going to be costing your compatriots lives. And you have an option of capturing the organizers before those acts happen, or killing them. What do you chose? They were killed two days ago. Two GI died yesterday. Three GIs died today. All that might not have happened. But we'll never know.

honestly I serious doubt they would talk or they would know enough to prevent random attacks. I think if the US thought they were in the loop they would've tried to capture them. Well I hope they would've have but you're right we will never know.

:wavey: I voted no, but then again my family havn't been tortured by these men.

My only concern is would relasing photo's of these dead men perhaps incite more anti-american sentiment from those already displaying that in Iraq. I guess what I mean is "stir" them up? I don't claim to be educated LOL, just a thought

They _would_ talk. Contemporary methods of interrogation of those who are not under defence of country's legal system ( i.e. lawyers ) rule out mere possibility of someone not talking.

or they would know enough to prevent random attacks.

They might have not known about specific plans, but they definitely knew the methods of planning and financing of those operations of resistance. Cutting the financial sources alone would have saved dozens of US soldiers. Leave alone the fact that the guys knew everything about those WMDs.

no, i absolutely do not want to see them, ys. however, i have to admit that there is a dire need for a morale boost in iraq right now and people fear what they cannot perceive. this said, it may very well be that actually seeing these pics is what the general iraqi populace need in order to feel any measure of security.
Bingo!

I think there will be more and more US soldiers killed despite of the sons killed. The hit-and-run-and-hide-among-locals resitance attacks will manage to provoke a backlash from US army against local population and that will convert the war into true guerilla war. It will not be like Vietnam, it will not be like Afghanistan, it will be something between Chechnya-like and Palestine-like situation where minor but persistent hit-and-run attacks will keep the casualties counter ticking and that will cost Bush his reelection, but that could be the most minor consequence, really. I don't care about Bush or US elections, what is more important is that instead of brutal but predictable ( and controlled by sanctions ) dictatorship, there will be chaos in Iraq.
