Belgium climbs ITF Fed Cup Nations Ranking

Belgium has climbed into second place on the ITF Fed Cup Nations Ranking after its 5-0 defeat of title holder Slovak Republic in last weekendís Fed Cup World Group quarterfinals. Belgium swaps places with Spain, which lost its quarterfinal to France 4-1. Slovak Republicís lead at the top of the ranking has been reduced to 50 points.
The three other semifinalists, USA, Russia and France, remain in fourth, fifth and sixth positions respectively. Switzerland and Czech Republic, two of the eight nations that won their World Group play-off ties, both rise eight places on the ranking. Japan, another play-off winner, climbs six places to No. 13.

The ITF Fed Cup Nations Ranking is published following every Fed Cup World Group round. The Ranking measures the success of all nations participating in the competition over a four-year period with recent performance weighted more heavily. All nations competing in Fed Cup from the elite World Group through to Regional Qualifying Groups I

How come Madagascar is one of the lowest teams in the rankings when they have a top 100 (Dally) player and a top 500 (Natacha) :o .

coz Both Dally and Natacha refuse to play for them, as they only compete in Euro/Africa Group 2.
