Caroline Whitten's commitments look great. Which week is Fed Cup? Caroline also does not need the WC into qualifying San Diego as she is high enough to get directly into the MD.

Jacquelyn Whitten is glad to get directly into the MD US Open and thanks organizers for a WC into Toronto qualifying.

Katarina Krivencheva-Molik would like to express her disappointment with the organizers stupidity at the fact that the lone two Polish juniors in FWTT received qualifying wildcards, while two NON-POLISH players received Main draw wildcards. And here I was thinking that your nationality played a big role in WC's, I guess I was wrong.

Did you read other thread? You are a late entry like everyone else and I knew you would complain, so I verified with Alek before I posted.

Josh ;)

Fler Hingisafrilia would like to ask :

* Why so many BYE's at every event?

* How come some of them are easy to get a WC (Direct Entry to MD) ? and they got it at every event as well?

Great to see you again, bitch! ;)

Bryanne accepted all offer wildcards at these tournaments because she's American ;) Rachel and Jennifer also American! ;) So, don't make a complain ;)

And ignore number of BYE ;) Alek usually put 2 or 4 BYE ;)

This is different, Your Highness Josh, Alek has told us that everyone is entered into the grand slams.

VSFan1 aka Joshua L.
Jul 11th, 2003, 03:38 PM
Yes last year. But now you are not entered unless you actually enter. That has happened since AO. And don't call me "highness". That is Alek's title.

VSFan1 aka Joshua L.
Jul 11th, 2003, 03:48 PM
And regarding the "BYE" issue, Alek has specifically told me the # of BYES for each tournament so these lists are the final lists.

Elizabeth Hawkins: "I am absolutely pissed off that I didn't recieve even ONE maindraw or qualifying WC when I asked for them. That is absolutely ridiculous considering I have already won a hard court event this year AND I'm an American. Anyways, I guess I have to totally change my schedule thanks to those guys."

Her new schedule:
Les-Contamines – France

Bronx
San Luis Potosi - Mexico

giving a WC to bryanne applegate at an american event is like giving one to lisa raymond. just cuz she isn't high enough to get directly in doesnt mean she needs a WC. young players like hawkins deserve them more.

I hope alx will change the number of byes next year. It is not real like the official WTA draws. We have for example 18th in the world in a qualification, this is not right I think! We have now nearly 110 players in the rankings, so I think it is time to change the setting!

Hope the byes will change!

Helsinki
Bronx
San Luis Potosi - Mexico
You asked for and received a Wild Card into Amelia Island main draw this year and then withdrew once the draw was made because "clay is not your best surface."

In order to receive Wild Cards, you must use them wisely.

Can you remove Emilie Joubert from New Haven to San Luis Potosi - Mexico??

I would like the rules posted in a thread for juniors to read. Why we got rid of the 10-tournament limit for juniors is beyond me, things are way too complicated now.

giving a WC to bryanne applegate at an american event is like giving one to lisa raymond. just cuz she isn't high enough to get directly in doesnt mean she needs a WC. young players like hawkins deserve them more.

Elizabeth Hawkins, "I appreciate Lindsay's support (you are lindsay aren't you:o ). As for me not using the Amelia Island WC I recieved, I never asked for it. I wanted to play qualifying, but I got a WC anyways. Then I talked w/ my coach, and he informed me that I could only enter 24 events per year. I thought to myself, "why waste a tournament on a surface where I would probably lose first round in anyways?". So I withdrw. Big deal. Whatever. I'll just have to tear up the challenger circuit and make a big run at the Open. I just really don't appreciate the tour directors scheming to make it harder for me to move up the ranking ladder;) . But I will still make it. I really want to be top twenty by the end of the year.

Can I please at least get into the tournaments I requested? That would be greatly appreciated, and there is still room.

I am Caroline Whitten. The WC situation in this game is pretty biased so get used to it. Thank God Jennifer Selles is getting some.

I agree with you Kris ;)

This doesn't make sense,# of BYE's = 20-30% from # of players on each event

Also, why 1 player can have so many WC into The MD ?

This is so UNFAIR,you have to look at into the LOWERRank players as well!

Zerene Fernandez should not be late entry for the US Open. Alx himself has said that all players are entered in the grand slams.

Everyone has to commit to the events that they want to play. If not here we would have Kitana Sanders and Rachel Porlay playing.

Josh ;)

Fler Hingisafrilia would like to ask :

* Why so many BYE's at every event?

* How come some of them are easy to get a WC (Direct Entry to MD) ? and they got it at every event as well?

Those rules of byes, qualifiers, etc were shown in the beggining of the year. They wont be changed now.

Wc's are because either past champions or they are in the same nationality.

You once got a wc over 100 people in Amelia Island, withdrew not in the thread were you should and the draw had to be re-doned after it was all posted. Then you were warned about you werent going to get any wild cards this year. I'm sorry.

This is not your case, but some junior players were playing as if they were a normal pro. So that was done, and as you told me you were saving your tournaments.

Still youj know you can make qualify Katarina into sopot main draw, and will gain even more ponts than a r1 exit.

Go Kata!

You better stop bitching Caroline, you never know when you will need a wild card... not for being #1 for some weeks you are secured your spot in main draws.

The original FWTT will always have special consideration too because we basically created this game. Sabine, Larissa, Jane, Tami, Selima, Liezel, Tiffani (sorry if i forgot others).

I will never give me a WC (unless it is because i have a junior to play in Afrika). Once, last year, I withdrew from event and then re-entered and I had to play qualifying as late entry.

There is no need for me to cheat. If you really think I do, then you need help.

It's stupid that you're going to make me play the qualifying. Not enough time are given for commitments and the rules aren't posted accurately. Zerene would withdraw from the stupid tournament if it weren't the US Open.

Congratulations, Josh, you asshole. Looks like you finally got your dream... to shaft me. I'm just sorry a pathetic twirp like you has any power in this game.

Oh, and yes, it has been my lifelong goal to make junior Zerene a late entry to play in qualifying of a fanstasy game that I play online. I am complete now, so I can die happy.

I appreciate your support Alek, (its Katia not Kata btw :p) but I am a man of principle and I do not agree with the Sopot Wc's. Anyways, I suppose your right, but I don't know if Katarina will qualify in Sopot, a big upset could happen. Oh well, I'll live....but I'm still mad!

Fine, Zerene has to play qualifying. This sucks though, she has 2nd round points to defend and if she doesn't, she certainly won't make the Aussie main draw. With these new wildcard rules, unless you're the top lucky junior, or you're from a certain country... it's impossible for you to get pro ranking points. I think this system needs a lot of work and I'm angry that I'm going to be put into the qualifying draw when I've worked hard in the FEW events I've been able to play to get the ranking to not have to do so.

Scotso
Jul 13th, 2003, 03:39 AM
And I also think that it's sucky that players like Sabine can't play because of all the byes.

Joanna Seles was given a WC to New Neaven qualies. In fact she didn`t need it as her ranking is high enough to play in qualies without WC.

Maybe next time I will be given a MD wc somewhere :)
