per4ever
Jan 25th, 2002, 04:41 PM
because of our good results in the WC qualifiing Tine

gentenaire
Jan 25th, 2002, 04:42 PM
The  when talking about England and Turkey being in the same group referred to the hooliganism that might ensue.

gentenaire
Jan 25th, 2002, 04:44 PM
But Croatia did better than we did and they were in pot B.

TheBoiledEgg
Jan 25th, 2002, 04:45 PM
Tine ..... its qualifying points for Euro 2000 and WC 2004 divided by games played

gentenaire
Jan 25th, 2002, 04:47 PM
It's not as if we did well at Euro 2000 either

TheBoiledEgg
Jan 25th, 2002, 04:50 PM
Tine, those matches dont count
only qualifying matches count.

pretty strange formula but you get nothing extra for qualifying.

per4ever
Jan 25th, 2002, 04:52 PM
and we didn't even play qualifying matches for Euro2000 ;)

gentenaire
Jan 25th, 2002, 04:54 PM
Exactly, K!

thefreedesigner
Jan 25th, 2002, 04:54 PM
OK, Tine. I just hope both sets of fans learn their lesson.

UEFA should make it that any trouble at either leg, BOTH teams get chucked out. Just be done with it, cos we certainly don't need things spilling over from the club situation.

per4ever
Jan 25th, 2002, 04:57 PM
may be testmatches are included too. We won a lot of those friendly games...

gentenaire
Jan 25th, 2002, 05:02 PM
Chucking both teams out might help in the long run. But it's sad for all the fans who do behave (and they're the majority after all).

Also, once all the hooligans are there and they've started fighting, will chucking the teams out help? They may decide to cause even more trouble then.

Giuliano
Jan 25th, 2002, 05:04 PM
OMG, we have the best group :D.

thefreedesigner
Jan 25th, 2002, 05:09 PM
Well I would hate to see England chucked out, but if the team are not playing matches, the fans (would would hope) can't get into bother.

It is draconian, but I'm just sick to death that (some) people can not enjoy their football unless it is somehow swathed in violence.
