I know its Manchester City. You know its Manchester City.

So vote for em! :)

Can a team on this planet player better than them? Nah! Better than Brazil on our day! ;)

Can a team play worse, more uselessly? Nah! Ive seen footy worse than you can ever imagine from them. A glorified pub team.

At once the greatest and the most awful, the good guys to Man United's bad guys...with massive loyal support despite not winning a thing for 25+years...

City are the team for those with an affection for the underdog, for the jinxed, the under achiever, the overlooked. A team whose every match is a war of nerves, a soap opera. Anything can happen. :)

I can't include every English team in the poll obviously, so I include some of the better known. And Man City. :)

I wanna know who this other Derby fan is!

Ahh, Derby, how we love the fact that no-one really cares, nobody cares if we go down, nobody would care if we won the league, whatever. No-one cares. Except us.

A team who were dubbed "The Entertainers of the Premier League" in the early season of 97/98 by some journalist who probably cared too much... a formidable strike partnership of the enigmatic but absolutely fantastic top-player Paulo Wanchope (you think he is good at City Chris.. we got the best out of him I think, he was awesome (apart from against Barnsley and Bolton that season when he did f**k all)., The Little Pirate, Francesco "Ciccio" Baiano, and once was good turned villain of fans, Dean Sturridge (Arsenal offered £7 million for him once! We didn't take it, we ended up selling him for £300,000 to Leicester).

Oh those times were good, there was a real buzz around a new stadium, we were brilliant at home, and when we lost we still felt upbeat (apart from when we lost to Leicester 4-0, all goals coming in the opening 16 minutes), but it was great.

The season after, we werent as entertaining but we finished 8th, and everyone was talking about Europe! Who cares if we replaced future England International Chris Powell with a balding German tackling mis-timer! WHo cares if we replaced Lee Carsley with... oh we never have. Who cares if we replaced Paulo Wanchope with Mikkel "How is it legal that man now plays in the Champions League" Beck (ok so they were there at the same time, but he became the target man), and then later an illegal immigrant in Esteban Fuertes! Come on, so what if his Italian passport was fake, with a name like Fuertes, which is spanish for Strong, he's got to be Italian! Hey, Jim Smith says the squad he has for 99/00 is the best he's had! And yes, even with Vassilios Borbokis at right back!

99/00 - Finished 16th
00/01 - Finished 17th
01/02 - Who cares, we're going down, and we're dull as f**k.

But despite the broken promises, the utterly useless replacements for players who were only sold due to minor dips in form, the revolving door management scenario that's just happening, the replica kits falling apart, and the fact that one of our stands is called the Bombardier stand... we still go, we still pay £20 to watch crap (well I don't I watch Belper cos I get more satisfaction out of non-league football), we do it. And why do we do it?

Because no-one else will!

Has to be Chelsea, I've supported them ever since Ruud Gullit first went there as a player!. Been a really disappointing season so far though, I expected a lot more, I still think Ranieri is useless and Luca should come back!!

My team is Arsenal.
I've got a soft spot for West Ham, Bolton and Derby.
Don't like Leeds , Everton, Blackburn and Buro.

My favorite Seria A team is AC MILAN.
Other teams I like are Juventus and Torino.
I despise Perugia.

My favorite Spanish Primera League team
Celta Vigo
Other teams I like Real Madrid, Barca and Malaga.
I do not like Deportivo; they're actually quite dull.

MartianJoeyWinson
Jan 27th, 2002, 04:52 AM
What about Belper Town! Craig Weston's Barmy Army!

Barry Horne played for us this season y'know, ex-FA Cup winner 1995...

Sung vs. Kendal Town last season in the light of the Cumbrian foot and mouth crisis

"We've got Carl Cunningham, we've got Carl Cunningham.
You've just got foot and mouth, you've just got foot and mouth"

"Sing when you're culling, you only sing when you're culling,
Sing when you're cuuuulling"

Oh how a national farming disaster can bring such witty terrace chants.

As for Burnley, I'd "love it" if they got promoted, because Stan Ternent is the most underrated manager in England in my opinion.

Anyone with Sky Digital should try their fanzone option. Its often quit funny to here 'normal' fans squabbling instead of the perfect tones(?) of Tyler and Gray.

The Man U fan who did the midweek game was very funny, he does most of their big games (not on Saturday), and is rather amusing.

In an arrogant, big headed Man U fan kind of way. :)

Do they really call them "footy teams"????

(Denise is trying not to ROTFL.)

Halardfan
Jan 28th, 2002, 02:29 AM
Yes, Denise, they can be called Footy teams. :)

Anyone watch the City game this evening?

We were SO poor in the first half, then looked world beaters in the second. Then we had the typical frantic finish.

Horrible draw for the next round, but it will be emotional for Mr Keegan

Sorry, Chris, you're a great guy, but I have to say that the idea of grown men calling them "footy teams" is rather comical!!!

ROTL.

Footy is kind of an old fashioned word, you might say "Anyone want a game of footy?"

That doesn't sound much better does it.
:)
Anyway, Canada can't play Footy anyway so there. ;)

Various Moose, Eskimos, Bears and Mounties get in the way I expect. ;)

(Note: I like Canada and am merely joking. :) )
