I am just curious as to what happened to the pictures section. Was it removed to make room for the the new venture?

Thanks Griffin. :)

It was removed for reasons of copyright. The pictures section wont be returning unfortunately.

On one hand, I can understand it as it is certainly extremely difficult to control the photos properties with a photo forum.

But on another hand there are some posters who own the copyrights of some photos and are willing to share on this board.

Could there be a solution in that case (upload them in threads with copyrights stated on the photos, or else) .

I don't know how hard this would be, maybe too hard. But if possible there could be a pictures sectoin in which the moderators have to approve each of them. If they don't have a copyright on them they won't be approved. Then maybe have it where the only photos that can be linked in threads are from that pictures section..just an idea ;) Even without a pictures section the board is still great :D

Of course there's an irony to what Amanda said, as well as to the whole avatar thing. Do you really think those fotog's would ask a player's agent for permission for them to sell the use of her image? (Wanna buy some swampland)? Of course they would say: "But a fotog for The Daily Blah takes pics @ an event under their press pass and the paper puts it with the story, which helps sell papers and thus ads in it" and legally they're right. But just looking @ the ethics, if ALL one is doing is taking pics to sell, is that the same as journalism? I don't think so (but let someone else do the moral equivilant to them and they cite copyright laws, blah).

Well if itís wtaworld runners decision to avoid any possible legal troubles then so be it. However they still allow link any kind of pictures in posts?!?

Anyway how about special section for links to different external galleries? Just an idea...

The photo galleries were more blatant.
