according to Seles Sprem will be 68 in the rankings and 64 if she wins the final tomorrow. She will be somewhere in the high 50's in the Year-End race.

well Buitzen....maybe if it was still top 16....but I don't see her making top 8 this year!

...next year though... ;) I just can't wait for her to actually play a Grand Slam match. (Of course, I could think of a better surface than grass for her coming out party)....

Imagine...she'll be Top 60 with NEVER even having played a GS match. That's remarkable.!

Very true Seles =)
I wish she could have played RG....it's pretty obvious Clay is her best surface....however hardcourt suits her well, too, cause she won like 3 challengers at the beginning of the year on Hardcourt, and the other on clay!

I actually don't think she's ever actually even played a match on grass before? Maybe she never played on grass EVER at all...

I can't find ANY results for K-Lina ever on grass. (And I have exhibitions, ITF, etc). I honestly don't think she's ever played on it.... And she says her best surface is a hardcourt. Can't wait to see this summer hardcourt season! :bounce:

....I'm sure she's at least *seen* grass before, and that's really all that matters.

lol

I didn't mean The Year Ending Championships 2003

I meant The Championship of Wimbledon ;) 2003

Uh-oh Seles....it looks like Masha is tyring to pass K-Lina in the rankings....sic her girl, sic her! ;)

Rtael

oh Buitzen....lol....she'll definitely make it to this GS! She wasn't scheduled to play either Eastbourne or The Ordine Open.....but she couldn't have gotten in there anyway.....Eastbourne is too strong, and Ordina doesn't have qualies

Masha will be close, and K-Lina is dropping like 23/25 (? not sure exact off hand) points mid June. So it could get close. We'll have to see how the Wimby thing goes.

But now with a ranking in the mid 60s, she can pretty much play where she wants to.... for the most part.

Rtael

Yep =P
But not Eastbourne....the qualies there feature two top 30 players I believe...

Yes, but a week off will be great for her. 12 1/2 hrs on court this week already, plus now the final.

Rtael
Jun 14th, 2003, 06:05 AM
True....I kinda wish she had played Birmingham instead though....to warm up on grass....but oh well...if she wins I guess it'll be better that she played here.....all that time on court and still winning proves she has good fitness though! I think it's pretty amazing! =D
