sounds interesting...but as has been already said in a different post, Fedcup seems to bring the best out in some people sometimes producing unlikely victors although I do expect at least the US and Belgium to steamroll through the opposition (especially if the US has their best players playing and choice of surface and if Kim and Justine lead Belgium against a Daniela-less Slovak team)
btw, who's playing for Spain? Martinez and Serna?

Not that I'll be seeing any of it on TV or anything (bitch slaps TC CEO) but USA and Belgium should c-walk through their matches. Anything less than a 5-0 result from those two would mean an upset. Russia should have an easy time as well. But France and Spain should be goooooood. Damn, I wish I could see that one. I'm very excited about fedcup and like caelestia said, it's something about representing your country that brings the very best out of players. :D

The US/Italy tie could get a bit more interesting, depending on who joins Venus on the team. According to a report out of DC, Serena has said no, Lindsay and Monica are unlikely for physical reasons, and Jen's another probable no. That's why Billie Jean is in constant contact with Chanda, trying to work out something that will fit into her schedule. (Chanda will be looking to rest her knee after Wimbledon.) If she can't go, it will be either Meg, who's been dinged up a bit, or Alex. Then things aren't so cut-and-dried.

But then, a lot will depend on which players actually play for Italy, barring any disputes with the federation.

Yes, Conchita & Magui

If Amelie play, we will have some problems, but i think Conchi can win her 2 matches and Magui win 1 of hers. If the doubles is necessary, Spain has Conchi and the world number 1 in doubles, Vivi Ruano. Conchi-Vivi is a great team... youŽll see... the Olimpic Team for Spain :)
