Who's gonna win The Championships this year?

I think we'll know more in a week or so, when the draw has been made.

I've got to say it'll probably be a Williams, although Kim can still do it. I'd doubt whether Justine could manage another GS win because I think the French will have taken so much out of her emotionally (another reason why it's stupid that the two are only a few weeks apart). Amelie has the game but mentally I'm not so sure just yet, in that respect she reminds me of Federer. Jennifer will always be dangerous but doesn't seem to win the really big matches anymore. A fully fit Lindsay could do it, but injuries are continuing to hold her back.

I predict Venus to win. Great surface for her type of tennis. Her record on grass is staggering.

Jun 12th, 2003, 04:21 PM
Im going to say Serena. Venus can plow through the field playing the tennis she played last year. But tha tennis won't work against Serena. The gurl has gotten better. And I know that Venus can pick it up. Venus didn't even seem to me playing all that great tennis against her opponents and Justine. Like Mary C and Navi said. Venus is playing well, but is this her best? No she can play a lot better. Which is scary to think. I think Serena played some of her best tennis through out Wimbledon, that is why she didn't drop anysets at all. Serena is my pick but Venus can take it if she picks up her game.

Kim has no chance, she struggles on the grass. You can't slide as well, and the power i say is even more forceful sometimes than on the hardcourts.

Why in the hell the world number 5, a former champion and is in semis and finals the last time played beaten by the eventual champ was not in this poll????

The starter of this thread is really dellusional by the fake-cheating GS won at RG.

Maybe Lindsay deserves it more then JCap, and I don't see any of them winning but I think JCap is more liekly to upset a top player....

If Venus is healthy, I don't see anyone who can beat her--even Serena. I just don't know how a player can consistently return the 120 plus serves.

If Venus is injured, Serena.

You are deadly wrong!!!!! Lindsay deserves it better than anyone except for the Williams. Tell me who performs better than her on Grass except for the Williams lately????

She's close with Justine. Really, IMO Justine and Lindsay should battle it out for #3 seed (going on grass seeds, Serena #1, Venus #2).

Lindsay: W RU SF
Justine: RU SF

Lindsay has the victory in 99, but Justine has Paris this year.

Justine Henin-Hardenne...and why not? She's made the final and semi-final. She hasn't been beaten past the semifinal since Miami. And even in the semi, she will be facing Serena Williams. Although Serena is tough, Justine has just become tough as well. Allez!
