I think Kim is such a nice girl.leyton is a handsome guy but he has such a difficult character.maybe after reading his interviews and above all the one about robredo and reading the past interviews of jelena dokic, noticing a certain point in common in their way to do I think leyton will be perfect for jelena and jelena for him...and if she changes nationality again they cn be compatriot too...
that's a joke, but what do u think??could u imagine other couples in the circuite like that?

I have never understood what Kim sees in him. He is so unbearable yet she is the complete opposite. I know opposites attract but please!

How many people here know him personally? He could be a real sweetie in private...
At first, I come across as a very very very (yeah, many very) cold person but I know I'm completely different when in the proper environment so why couldn't he be like that?

I agree Julien, I mean just because he's not the nicest person when's on court or talking about tennis, doesn't mean to say that away from it, he's a completely different player.
I've heard plenty of people say that off court, he's actually really shy. Something you would never have guessed with how he is on court.

A bit of an article from today's Belgian newspaper:

He was pissed when he was asked how far Robredo could go in the tournament: "without a doubt, next round!" Let's check wit Kim on this: is monsieur also bitchy at home? "Oh, no, not at all, on the contrary....."

And Kim's parents are really fond of him too. Lei said more than once Lleyton is a great guy and a nice bloke: "He's really nice, a bit shy and always polite. He cleans the table, does the dishes and says 10 times thank you every day!"

LLEYTON just hates the press, that is all! But it was not he who got the prix citron!!

i don't really like lleyton but i have to agree that lleyton probably is not that good at talking to the press. as someone said he's shy so he probably wants his press conferences as short as possible and that can make his answers seem rude

I find Lleyton very hard to like sometimes but enough of the good people in Australia tennis have nothing but praise for him.

Also knowing what sort of a person Kim Clijsters is must say something about the private Lleyton. One retired Aussie player said that he treats her like a princess....the intense angry Lleyton on the court is a complete contrast to the private one I think. It's just a shame that very few people will every be privy to that Lleyton.

You can blame the media in Australia for that - they have treated him with nothing but contempt for the past 5 years or so. A number of times he has deserved it but the majority of times he hasn't. Is it any wonder he has built a moat around himself....

I know people who have met him personally and they all say he is nice - especially to kids and less fortunate people. We can also see for ourselves how much he supports Kim, which is certainly a better measure of a good partner than whether he gives good interviews! Plus he seems responsible - eg hasn't spent his first millions on a fleet of sports cars and an extravagant lifestyle. What parents of a young woman would not want that kind of responsible, supportive, kind partner for their daughter?

Leeyton is a legend, he's a typical young aussie 'footy' player who decided to get into tennis, and doesnt follow all the rules of etiquette, and I for one am glad...

And comparing the Leyton that Clijsters would experience to the hewitt on court is stupid and laughable...

Maybe he has a 10 inch cock and fucks her just right, and/or is good at giving oral. I'm telling you, that can erase a lot of bad features in a man.

:p  :p

lol... u are so straight forward.

I think Kim deserves someone better, but I cannot say that for sure, since I do not know them personally, but based on what I know, which is only what I see through the tube, Kim does deserve someone better. But Kim loves him, as Celeste implied, USES HIM FOR SEXUAL PLEASURES :lick:

Sometimes I cheer for Lleyton, and sometimes I want him to be bagelled.

Good point! One can never overlook the essentials in life!! ;)

I'm not a big Leyton fan, but I think kim is one of the sweetest chickees on this planet and if she thinks he's perfect for her, then that's good enough for me!! And if he knows how to use his equipment to produce the right angles and winners on her, then I say to kim...GAME, SET, MATCH KIM!!!! :p

Yet isn't it funny you seem to judge Serena by her actions on court and at press conferences.

Thank you Selesfan! My thoughts exactly. Some people just seem to always ping certain players although totally overlook actions/offenses in other players. Serena is way more gracious than Leyton will ever be, yet people go on and on about how she doesn't compliment her opponents (read my signature below), or how she's greedy, or how she doesn't kiss her opponents. Whatever!!! It's like, it's OK if some people do those things but the minute Serena does those things, it's the end of the world! She's suddenly a rude witch!!

Anyhow, back to Kim and Leyton, if they are happy with each other, then I'm happy for them! :)

Hi vs1 :wavey:
I'm not crazy about Lleyton but if Kim is with him he must be a decent guy off the tennis court. Serena might come off as cocky but that is because she is a confident woman who has a lot of pride, she usually doesn't bad mouth her opponents.

I agree with you selesfan! :wavey:

I do think that Leyton is probably not a bad guy off the courts. I know some people in Australia who know him and said that he has a tender heart and does his share of community service. And Kim probably sees the tender side of Leyton that we never see. So no big deal.

I'm just flabbergasted at the double-standards you pointed out in your post. Serena is usually gracious and yet people insist on picking her apart. And they are obsessive about it. It's a bit mysoginistic. People can't seem to tolerate a confident, strong woman. Add that to the woman being a Williams and you've got a handful to deal with!

Anyhow, most people know the beauty of Serena!!! :hearts:

when your in the public eye as these Tennis Players are... you have 2 lives.. one off-court and one on-court...

Llyeton is a total different person on and off-court... what u see in the outside is not what u get in the inside...

he cares about Kim and she cares about him.. look at them together... they are happily in love...

I am not a fan of hewee on court at all and his sick looks ridiculous but the man lost early and could easily say fuck this stupid tournament and go back to australia still he stays with kim the whole week.

I wonder how many other top male players would to that!
so I don't think he is bad to kim. he is dropping tournaments for her, not the other way around

maybe kim is the evil one in the relationship :p ;)

Kim is boring. :o
Lleyton is cool with his performance. But I don't think he has much ATP fans (besides those fellow Aussies).

I agree with the idea of Lleyton being Jelena's bf. They could make a gorgeous couple. At least, Jelena is not as boring as KIM!!! :D

I simply think Leyton doeasn't stand the press and this is the reason of his behaviour.the same we can say about other player like dokic for istance even if in this case with her father's experience is difficult to think she's not like him.Anyway,I think Leyton should be a nice guy.Kim is so lovely...he'll be differet off the court.

I'm not suprised Lleyton is the way he is on the court. You should hear how his father talks to him. He goads and barks at him like a football coach. Most people would sit and and tell the guy to "shut the fuck up" but this method was good for Lleyton as it fired him up. Unfortunately, the father also talks in this way to Jaslyn, but sadly she does not respond well to his aggressive ways. The father is a bully in a way, but thinks he's doing it for the good of his kids. It's helped Lleyton to the pinnacle of sport, but Jaslyn is the victim of the tyranny.

With regards to Jelena, I know that she has expressed mutual admiration for Lleyton. When both were Aussie number ones, they were ripped apart in the media at the Oz Open one year. Reading several articles, I noticed they once stood up for each other. So that was good. I felt that they deserved a lot more respect than people gave them from the press and public alike. Here were two teenagers, single-handedly helping to raise the standard and profile of Australian tennis, and here was everybody else trying to tear them down just as they were doing what we had hoped for over the last 30 years - and that was to bring Australia back to the forefront of international tennis.

I heard vague rumours about that going on in juniors but this is the first time I read anything more concrete particularly about Jaslyn. Is it still ongoing?
