I watched the nightly recap of tennis on ESPN. I freakin LOVE her backhand!! Its so ....I don't know....Georgeous!! I love the way she whips it down the line or cross court. Last year I thought I liked Amelies game more, but I'm thinking Henin has the edge this year, even though I still like Amelies Game.

Just wanted to share that.

I like her backhand but I admire players who don't have to grimace while making it and still do it one-handed. :)

I really don't like the face Justy makes when she hits it because she looks like she's taking every ounce of energy in her body to do it. She's short and she's not exactly muscular but it appears that it takes a lot of effort to make it so pretty. It's a good shot, no doubt. :)

I agree! Amelie makes it look so easy. :)

I think Justine's backhand is more beautiful. It's always low over the net and deep. I love it :D

I think Amelie makes hers look easier because she's got more fire power, she's taller, and she's really more muscular than Justine. But it's amazing how someone in Justine's stature can conjure up such an effective and powerful shot nonetheless. Not to mention beautiful.

I guess we all have our own opinions. I guess I am a nut because I actually think Justine's forehand is better than her backhand. ;)

How true, i am impressed by Justine forehand, she hits it hard enough to make her opponent playes under immense pressure(except for the Williams sister):)

Justine has also really improved her serve as well. Her backhand is awesome - she has really improved alot in the last year. Congrats to her!!!

My only problem with Justine is her service motion.
The way she makes her body all crooked.......painful to watch, I keep thinking she might break soon. :o

Otherwise adore the backhand and remembers very well how she overpowered Venus with her forehand during thier Wimbledon rematch last year during one point.
The announcers were saying how her backhand was her only weapon, guess she heard them.

Her backhand is only good if she was already set up to hit those shots.

Amelies backhand is better....like Cari i appreciate the one handers who dont look spasticated when they are hitting it.

but you know, its described as the best shot in tennis...so you know.....whatever

Even Juju admits her backhand is only the most attractive part of her game. She says its her forehand that does the most damage.

Yeah she does grimace alot when she hits, but most players do!!

Actually the clip that inspired me was more of an aerial view so you couldn't see her face.

I don't think players try to look as attractive as they can when trying to win a match with their strokes. I think critisizing shots because of how a player looks as they are doing it is just shallow.

She may be putting more grimace, effort in her backhand than mauresmo but I also find Henin has the most beautiful backhand.

It's just more awesome to see it start. In some way I have the opinion that it's more flat and quicker and destroyable than those of Mauresmo.

I'm always impressed of those shots of Henin and don't have that feeling with Mauresmo her backhands although it's very beutiful too

Justine & Amelie have the most beautiful games in the top 10, no question for me, anyway. Backhand-wise, I think Justine's is slightly prettier but that's partly because it's so dramatic coming from someone so tiny. But possibly Amelie has the more "fluid" game - she's lovely to watch when she's serving and volleying.
