View Full Version : Why Venus Will Win The French Open.

anton

Venus runs down more balls than anybody and she is sick of losing to Serena. Nobody is good enough to beat Venus 6 times in a row!!!

Also Venus is hitting her forehand and serves better; like really going after them and not just topspinning them in.

If Venus plays this way she will have a lot of errors but her winners will balance out.

Venus will win the French Open!!

Any questions? :bounce:

Well I would love it, but I think she's just trying to get her form back not to mention her timing. It's weird with Venus you never know, we shall have to wait and see.

Go V :bounce:

Did you see the set point that Evie won? Venus hit a huge serve down the tee then missed a fh cc sitter.

evie run to her chair like she just hit an ace or something. anyway venus will miss some of those and make some. serena i think may lose to amelie or henin. bad luck for her both are on her side. i am looking forward to these matches.

both players will try to mix it up to throw serena off her game.

but i hope venus can get past kim who may be her only threat before the finals

Williams v Williams, I predict in the final...this tourney is reminding me of Wimby 2000, with Venus playing sloppy tennis, and Serena being near perfect-until the semis:cool:

The Capster has never beaten Venus and Jennifer is playing worse than ever so I don't see her upsetting Venus.

I think if they both reach the finals, Venus will win and quiet her (many) critics!!! Venus has the heart of a champion, and I think she realizes it's time to re-assert herself!!

Venus should have won the Melbourne final. She played better than Serena and showed more courage and power. Venus' game fell apart in the last game and she made some errors to give Serena the match.

I think Venus will not give Serena this match should they play.

Serena is going:

yes but Jennifer and Venus play almost the same exact game but venus volleys better, groundstrokes better, movement better, etc.

The only advantage Jennifer may have is maybe Jennifer's forehand is more consistent than Venus' forehand, but I think if venus serves well, Jennifer may take a set but i expect venus to come up with the win. surprised i picked venus? :p

Well my hope is that Venus just put up a good showing next round and advance without any injury. I think Venus is struggling with form and IMO this is a surface where she has to be on. There are people who can upset her and Serena here if they are not on their games.

We shall see what happens. Right now I'm not sure if Venus or Serena will win but it is very likely that they will. But if they hit too many errors and play erratic in the wrong matches then we might have a new winner.

I still have all the faith in the world in my faves!

Go Venus, Go Rena!!!! :D

LOVE Venus, but I agree with harloo. V needs to somehow get more of her feel and confidence back by the time she gets to the 2nd week. When she's feeling on, she's actually more patient than Rena, and could possibly work the clay better. But right now her error rate is horrendous.

There's not only a Jennifer at the way to the final but also a certain Kim.

Do you people already forget her?

Ps. You're saying Venus should have won the Melbourne final. I say Kim should have won the semi-final. :p

I have not watched any of the Venus' match since this RG but according
to many haters, she is not playing good--though I never trust a hater
word.
Venus playing this low ranked and not playing good doesn't indicate
her early exit from the tournament rather a signal that when meet a
high ranked player, she will up her level.
According to one hater, Capriati and Clijsters are liking what they see
VEnus is doing--playing bad. Venus will be very bad in next few rounds
and so anyone who is facing Venus should not take into consideration
her level play previously in this tournament, otherwise she maybe doing
that at her own peril.
In her pres conference, she said she has to do something if she
wants to be in the tournament--if I am quoting her correctly--.
And what Venus means is not ready to go out, even if it will happen,
it will not very easy. Clijster, Capriati or any other player for that matter
should play 100% to defeat in this grandslam.

Vee is tryin to shake off rust. She just came back from an injury. She is playing like crap at the moment..(with lots of shots of brilliance) if she continues this way she will not win the FRENCH OPEN. She has to up her level injured or not, and if not she is going home before the final.

Venus is my fav but she is rusty and she has just came back from injury.
I won't be surprised to see her go out before the final.

GO VENUS!

I t hink Venus will have a tough time wiht Dechy. And if she makes it out of that encounter, she'll likely lose to Cappy for the 1st time, as Cappy is playing great, and Venus, unfortunately, is not.

I think it's on topic. Although, you'll be relieved to know the biggest streak Lindsay was able to run off against her was 5 (and 8 of 9).

I hope Venus makes it to the quarters I'd be really interested in seeing what she will come up w/against the top players. It'd be a great chance for her to show those who don't seem to realize just how much fighting spirit she has.

Hope the trainers can keep her together through this tourney, I saw she had a patch on her abdominals.

it will be tough. Venus isn't playing well at all. Capriati seems to be playing well, but she also hasn't beaten someone ranked higher then her in a long time.

Many of you are judging some players of what they capable of doing.
Who is Vera? How many clay tournaments has she won and who she
beat.
Not because Venus is not playing well at the moment so everybody
is capable of beating her according to many observers. This is not the
first time Venus never played pre-tournaments and struggles in the
early rounds of grandslams.

Two Struggling matches, ESPECIALLY in the early rounds, do not determine whether that play will win the tournament or not.

Serena is the perfect example. Would anyone think she would have won after the way she played against both Loit and Clijsters??

GO VENUS!! WIN THE TITLE!! :bounce:

Oh, BTW eta psi, if you're complaining about people jinxing Venus, I would change that signature of yours, because it is not coming true. ;)

I just saw Venus' match against Evie, and I didn't see the patch on her abdominals...she doesn't really look like she is in any pain, but her timing on her serve is off, so maybe she is in some discomfort...anyway, I don't think she'll have any problem with SFE. Go Venus :D

Did you guys see Serena yesterday? Venus will improve as the rounds go on but she will have to if she is going to be any threat to what I saw yesterday. Hell, if she doesn't improve significantly on her second round she will be packing her bags tonight.

She is going to have to go up a few notches per match if she is going to win this thing. Her opponents only get steadily better from here. Farina-Zvonareva-Capriati-Clijsters-Serena. That's her path to the title. Now Venus is a champion, but having played so little tennis so far this year, and been very mediocre in her first two rounds, is she going to be able to improve sharply and rise to the occassion for each match? You have to doubt it.

Venus has always started slowly and builds up to top form by, say, the quarters. However this tournament she has had more than a slow start. Its been ugly. It evokes memories of the AO 2001. And we all know what happened the first time Venus played a top ten player in that tournament.

Even if Venus gets to the final I can't see her beating Serena. Serena was playing crap at the AO and Venus was playing reasonably well, but Serena still won. All indications are that the reverse is the case here. How can Venus beat her?
