Lindsay managed to serve only when she needed too. Iroda couldn't take 3 match points. Iroda was impressive when her first serve worked which was very rarely. Lindsay according to our commentator is serving strangely- her ball toss is so far (right?) she can't serve wide which is pretty significant I should think given which serve she built her success on? Is she well?

Iroda had 3 set points not match points - my typo - brain was thinking that if she had converted one and had taken the first set they might well have been match points as Lindsay only really started playing well on the set points and Iroda went even more off her game when the first set slipped away.

You could tranquilize livestock cattle with footage from this match. Rallies were as rare as first serves.

It helped a bit when Lindsay calmed down and stopped going for her shots. Then it was only Tuly who looked like an upgraded version of Lucic.

I expected Lindsay to win! The first set was close, Tuljaganova had three setpoints. The second set showed that Tuljaganova was far away from reaching a third one. :kiss:

By the way, it shows Lindsay`s class if she wins in straight sets with only 39 % of first serve. No reason to roll your eyes, squawk box!!! :fiery:

Congrats to Lindsay, hey a win is a win, even if it's ugly. Maybe Lindsay was just nervous thinking about their OZ match.

Anyway I really think Lindsay has been underestimated here. She can do really well.

A terrible match, in the first four games the serving player did not win a ball :eek:
Lindsay wins with a first serve % of 38. One thing is to lose when you play well, but not to play as well as you can in addition to loose is :sad: :sad: :sad:
