Well considering she thrashed her last month, does it really warrant an 'eek' smiley :p

It's a very ugly match (well the tennis is ;))...but Ashley is doing what she can and hitting some good shots...and Daniela is...well...

after the first set i think it said Daniela had hit 40 unforced errors.

i like how harkleroad can mix up the lob then whack a hard ball.

harkleroad did not mix it up enough but it is scary to mix it up when hantuchova plays all or nothing.

nonetheless ash won a tremendously tough match!

wasn't it you who criticized daniela for playing "hit and run" tennis?

It also looks like danilea has lost 40 pounds the last 3 or 4 years...

It was a very interesting match, but both players were in the match and then out of the match. For instance, Ashley led 5-1 and then fell apart partly because Daniela really played with more confidence and was really going for her shots and making them. Her attitude on the court was great and that is why she was able to climb back and take the lead for 6-5. However, after that, and Ashley recovering after crying, Daniela began to play the way she was in the beginning of the set, which eventually led to her downfall. Ashley really hung tough, I know how hard it is to pull out a win after blowing a 5-1 lead, so I give great props to her. Daniela I feel sorry for as well as after all her comeback she was able to serve for the match and failed to win. But Ashley definitely made some nice shots.

Daniela really needs to put on some more pounds, they were saying she put on 2lbs but that certainly is not enough. She also really needs to improve her attitude on teh court, cuz when she is confident her shots are brilliant! (Her bad attitude was the reason why her coach left in the middle of the second set)
