I'm happy for Frenchie and I hope she gets loads of offers from appearing in "Rent". I'm glad she picked that musical because one of my favourite underrated actresses, Daphne Rubin-Vega, got her start there. :)

FORMER "AMERICAN IDOL" CONTENDER FRENCHIE DAVIS MAKES
HER BROADWAY DEBUT IN RENT BEGINNING FRIDAY, MAY 16

Frenchie Davis, the former "American Idol" contestant, makes her Broadway debut in Rent beginning Friday, May 16 at the Nederlander Theatre. Ms. Davis, whose untimely dismissal from "American Idol"
created headlines across the country and brought her national attention,
will play a variety of roles and will be the featured soloist of Rent's
heartfelt anthem "Seasons of Love."

Originally from Los Angeles, Ms. Davis is currently a senior at Howard
University majoring in musical theatre. In addition to numerous university
productions including Ain't Misbehavin', Timbuktu!, and a musical revue,
Black Broadway, Ms. Davis has performed professionally in German productions of Little Shop of Horrors and Jesus Christ Superstar. Ms. Davis was selected as one of the semi-finalists on "American Idol" in
January of this year and quickly became an audience favorite. Her rousing
renditions of "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going" and "Band of Gold" remain highlights of this season's competition.

Many thanks to all who made this opportunity possible.
Thank you God for being so good.

I turned down the lead in Rent when it first debuted. Neely turned it down also, but only after I did. It was offered to me first.
