When I made "Let's All Make It With Amber Lynn" it was ok, but I cried when I saw the paycheck. Does that count?

Gorillas In The Mist when Digit is killed by poachers and his head and hands are chopped off. It made me wail.

And Bambi. And any movie where animals die.

Softie!

I don't cry. Except during Dancer In The Dark, and that was Lars von Trier's emotional manipulation, damn him!

Schindler's list.

I guess it's a topic too close for comfort.

Well, I don't cry unless it's over money and I'm involved. I virtually never cry over a movie. It is just a stupid movie after all, but I went to "White Oleander" with Trish one day when the bordello was slow and I "sort of" got wet in the eyes when Michelle Pfeiffer goes to jail and doesn't ask her daughter to lie for her on the stand in court when Pfeiffer had negotiated it with her beforehand and rehearsed her. A mothers's love. Trish and I had chain-smoking, drug-addicted, alcoholic mothers who didn't give a rat's ass for us, so we sort of cried in that scene, because we knew both our mothers would have had us lie in court and sold us down the river to get out of the joint without a second thought! But it was only a mist, and I was on the rag that day (as was Trish) so maybe it doesn't count.

I think it started when Dale Earnhardt died  that made me cry, and since then i've been like a flooding river.

damn, i hope you're not joking about the dale earnhardt thing...some of us speedlovers would take that to heart...
I'm serious. I remember watching the race and being so excited at the finish. And like a half hour later, i turned on the tv, and i heard the news. I literally fell to my knees infront of the tv and started crying

It is a hard one to come to grips with. I too hid that fact from the world but that all changed when I read Karl Malone admit to it. Oh thank you Mailman for showing me the way.

I cried because of ET when I was a kid. This movie used to scare me... but as far as I can remember, I've never actually cried since then. It just doesn't get out. I've had my eyes wet a couple of times but no tears.

when I was a kid:
bambi
the fox and the hound
e.t. (scared the shit outta me)

now:
the joy luck club (when June's mom goes 'I see you' stick a fork in me cuz I'm done)
the green mile
shawshank redemption
forrest gump (gawd...)
malcolm x
monster's ball (just a little)
and when I watch any movie on slavery i.e. amistad, I'm pretty much reduced to bumblin' idiot stage

I love "the Joy Luck Club". We read one of the stories in a lit class, "Two Kinds"...and it was painful. Gonna have to buy that book someday.

GBFH, I have two copies of it; paperback and hardback. The book is cooler because Amy Tan is such a good writer but the movie was pretty good.

Smash Up, the Story of a Woman, I'll Cry Tomorrow, My Foolish Heart, and I Want to Live! I was brilliant in all of them. I did a lot of crap in the '60's though. Much like Navratilova accused Conchita Martinez of, I took the money and ran after I got my Oscar. This one film I did in '67, I had 4 scenes, did them in two weeks, and pocketed $50,000. Not bad!
