Kloniekova has caused quite a stir in the ITA ranks today, after she told French sports paper L'Equipe that she felt the draws were rigged against her. "I have made a final, and beaten a top 10 player twice, so why do I have a number one seed in the first round I do not know!" Kloniekova played fairly well getting at 6-2 5-3 lead but then it all collapsed when she lost 2-6 7-5 6-3.
So what evidence does Kloniekova have for these allegations?
"It feel its because I represented Russia in the Eurovision song contest!"
Kloniekova has twice been on the Eurovision stage last in 2000 when she was the runner up with her song Solo. She also was a backing singer in 1997 for the Russian entry Premaddona.
Italy on the other hand, has not represented in Eurovision since 1997 describing the contest as 'tacky' and 'politically charged'. Kloniekova was reported to have said in an Israeli as saying "well thats rich from a country which has so much porn coming from it, its just not funny."
Kloniekova feels these allegations are responsible, "I can see no other explanation!".
The ITF were eager to comment on this. "We used a computer, and two player from the pro circuit to draw the juniors, so we feel we were 100% legitimate in making the draw."
Kloniekova now as a 3-3 win to loss ratio.
"I am trying really hard, and am adding extra things into my game for nexts weeks funs in Strasborg."
With that she jumped on her plane.
