Apparently her decision to "do nothing" for an entrie year fell through -- the tournament must've made her an offer she couldn't refuse.

She was also seen practising with Martina and Sveta in Berlin and there is some "vague" talk about her playing the French -- maybe just in doubles (?) -- did anyone else hear this? I wish it would be so, but personally, I have to doubt it.

I've heard that she will be *at* Roland Garros, but no more than that. Wouldnt a mixed doubles match vs. Steffi just be too good to be true!

Congrats Arantxa :)

ASV's name appears on the players entered list on the French Open website along with the likes of Martina Navratilova and Natasha Zvereva. It is probably a mistake

Here's a link anyway if anyone wants to see.

great smash

Well, she was 'at the tournament' in Rome as well, practising last night. When we spotted her during the day we asked if we could have our picture taken. She was very friendly and patient until all three of us had their picture taken :D

Today she was in the stands with her dog watching Navratilova's match as well. Seems she's having a great time

YAY GO ARANTXA!!!! This is such good news I miss Arantxa so much and I too am glad that tennis is still alive in her and kicking! And it would be a dream come true for her to come back at the French Open..of course all of this won't matter if she doesn't have fun with it and by the looks of it it seems she's having a blast right now. :)

She played with Martina back in 2000-2001. The combination didn't work out all that well.

Actually I think they did pretty well considering that it was their first year together. But IMO I think she played better with Daniela and even Sveta.
