umm if she was injured why did she play at all? I mean didn't she get injured in the last tournament so that means she was coming in with an injury?

The headline is ridiculous, she lost, she almost lost in round one last week, only because Alves cramped. This time Anna did not retired :s .

Its not the end, but something HUGE must happen to her and her game, to get back on track.

Whatever..Anna is a mental midget right now and the only thing that will cure that is rest and a sports psychiatrist...

Its official she needs to get rid of Harold...she is worst off with him...

No, but she can win a first round at a GRANDSLAM, yeah I'm also talking about this year. Give her a break, she has had so many injuries lately and over the last few years. AND she's working hard and trying to find her form back.

agreed.

i've been saying that for months now, this coach should be fired and the same goes for the uber-babe's

i'm sure they're good coaches, but just not right for their respective players

lol, perhaps they should swap

Yeah, so that means that isn't injured. Thanks for playing doctor for everyone here.

Most likely she shouldn't have played but she did and she lost. Life will go on.

True. Why did she play if she was still injured? Its not like she was playing a grand slam.

i honestly dont know where Anna should go from here. Its obvious she has the game to play top 20 consistently (not sure about top 10, she wasnt there for very long). I dont think a new coach will help cos its Anna's mental problems that hurt her game, getting soeone differnt probably wont change anything. She just needs to win matches and build up some reputation. Serena at the present time is a perfect example, she gains confidence from winning, and by winning makes other players hate playing her, they know its gonna be a tough match b4 they walk on court, i heared a commentator say mentally the top women in the world and more so the world no.1 already has a few games just by going out on court. They dont get that impression with Anna.

She just needs to win, and fast!! :bounce:

Anna losing first round at a challenger. I don't think that is news at all, the girl has been on a losing streak. Her winning a match is actually news not her losing one. I think she should join Martina Hingis on the farm....and recuperate then come back and challenge for the top. There is so much pressure on her it's not funny and to make matters worse, that damn Anastasia and Elena have already won their titles and now Zvonareva.....it keeps getting worse by the minute. I feel for her and won't wish that kinda pressure on anyone......poor soul...I'd retire and take up golf. At least there no one expects me to succeed...Or even WNBA (LOL)

No... the WNBA is only for ugly, tall girls.

What about Lisa Leslie. She is gorgeous. You shouldn't generalize, Bovina looks like she could play in the WNBA. ;)

Eh... I disagree about Lisa Leslie.

Miss Bovina is drop dead gorgeous, of course... but she's far too good for basketball. Baseball is her 2nd sport. :)
