Félicitations! Moi aussi c'est mon rêve que ma ville soit hôte des Jeux Olympiques. Alors si mon calcul est bon, la décision sera prise à l'été 2005!

Ah 2012 seems so far away, i don't even care. I think London is also a candidate. But with their lame transport services, i don't think it would be a great idea.

Who are the other candidates?

From the Globe and Mail:

So far, declared candidates for the 2012 Games include New York, Madrid, Leipzig, Germany, and Havana, Cuba. London, Moscow and either Rio de Janeiro or Sao Paulo, Brazil, might also register before the deadline.

Toronto may also jump in, depending on the fate of Vancouver's bid for the 2010 Winter Games. That host city will be decided July 2 in Prague.

How exciting! Paris would be a beautiful spot, who wouldnt want to play tennis in RG and who wouldnt want to play volleyball under the Eiffel Tower.

I guess the tennis players wouldnt be too excited about the tennis though, only the big names get to play in the Olympics anyway and they play at RG every year. It would certainly be a good venue though. I guess if NY gets it they get to play at the home of the US Open.

OMG, and this just reminded me of a weird dream I had last night about playing volleyball and being unable to get the ball over the wall (yes, it was a wall not a net) no matter how hard I tried..crazy!

It is, lol. I've just copied/pasted the last paragraph. The title of this article is 'Paris bids for 2012' Olympic Games' or something ;)

If Moscow and New York are involved, anyone else can switch to thinking about 2016..

Please not NY! I like the city, but the games have been held in the US enough times already. Moscow sounds good.

Geez, with London in, we have here in the list every major European city, with two biggest cities of USA and Canada, with biggest city of Africa, in case of Rio - biggest city of South America..

The toughest competition ever. Suddenly the world got interested in Olympics. Normally it would be an evidence of tougher economic competition between the countries and willingness to draw the attention by any means..

Hopefully Vancouver gets 2010 so that Toronto won't need to bid in 2012.

If Vancouver did get 2012, the hockey tickets would sell out 4 years in advance ;)
