I've got a job interview for Tesco on Saturday morning and I just wanted to know if anyone else has had one cos apparently they ask weird q's like 'Who would you invite to a dinner party? etc'. I'd just prefer not to make a complete tit out of myself, so please let me know what I'm in for. I mean I know it's not that big a deal and it doesn't matter if I get it or not cos I'm only doing it to get a bit of extra cash for going to uni, but I don't want to be sitting cringing the whole way through it! :p

I always ask people in interviews where would be the best place to hide a body. I'm still not sure why I ask this. Hmmm.

I've never had an interview for Tescos but I had an interview at Safeway... turned the job down tho.. went to Focus DIY instead.
Usually with retail based job interviews, they take into account your personality and customer service skills a lot, and also flexibility of hours.
Don't talk about your own career aspirations a lot, make out like as though the job you are going for will really help you (even if you know it won't).
And another tip... if you have any illnesses or allergies that you can cope perfectly well with (e.g. if you have asthma and you have a couple of blasts on your salbutamol and you're fine), don't mention it at all if you are in competition for the job.
And just be yourself, don't be too honest, be positive.. and you'll get the job.

Thanks for your help, apart from Jen that is. I know it's stupid getting nervous but knowing me I'll turn into the biggest goofball on planet earth.
Anyway, if I get the job I wonder if that means I get a discount on their booze.......... :p

They'll probably ask you what kind of personal skills you need for whatever position you are doing. Just say stuff like you need to be friendly, helpful etc. It's for a supermarket so it ain't brain science. They'll just want to make sure you'll be polite and helpful to their customers and not scare them away. Tell them ASDA, Morrisons and Safeway suck haha That'll score you points.
