Is Anna Kournikova headed to the Tennis Hall of Fame?
Obviously she can't get in by results, but she could get in strickly on her popularity. Bud Collins once called her "the most unique player in the game", because despite her results she is popular...probably the most popular player to EVER play the game.
Should Anna be voted into the HOF based on the fame/popularity she has brought to the sport? [of course, a career high rank of #7 isn't too shabby either]

No. If she got in, it would be a joke. I can't see the HOF ever even considering it.

I like Anna, but no. It would be an outrage if she were inducted.

She's a sure thing in the tennis hall of infamy.

the only HOF that Anna's getting close to is the one Enrique will be singing at when his father's inducted.

Not at this point, maybe if she starts to win some slams maybe she should get in.

sorry, but it's either a very silly (or plain stupid) thread or the one for bashing Anna...

Indeed this thread could have been intended as a set-up for Anna bashing. And since she's shown the humility to try Challenger events to rebuild her game, I want to cut her alot of slack. But what will get her bashed far more is ys spewing that CODE WORD RACISM about her attracting "the right people", etc. Forget that the facts were faulty as was pointed out by several people in that thread, pretend just for a moment they weren't. ys would be condoning bigotry, just more subtly than the kids with the whites only prom. (Of course, ys technically based it on class, not race, but imagine an America where it's not "be all you can be", but "be all you can be without making anyone uncomfortable about it)".
