I'm pretty sure it's possible, but she'd have to win or final in Rome (if she wins, she will for sure pass Lindsay, not sure if she is just a finalist)

Yes she has a shot...but she'll have to win and/or beat Serena.

I'd give Mauresmo a chance though. Serena hasn't played in about a month, and it's her first showing on red clay. Anything can happen.

we could see Justine end up at number 6 by post Wimbledon....

Sure. It's possible. I mean if Venus bombs out at RG, she could slide in the rankings too.

But, Justine is playing well. She has no points to defend at all at RG, so if she does well in Rome, all of her RG points are padding on her total. So, that could make up for the difference if she doesn't play as well as she did last year on grass.

Justine is playing well now and unless she is struck again with a terrible illness, she should be just fine at number four.... unless, of course, Venus replaces her in that spot. ;)

Anything can change... Serena can be #4 after Wimbledon too... Or Monica can be Top 3 after Wimbledon. So I try to only look 1 week ahead.

I believe that Amelie can do it. Shes played a consistentley good game latley with only the BEST taking her out.
Remember, she made the SF of Wimbledon last year!

Neither of those things are possible under the best of circumstances. ;)

Let's remember with amelie, had she not been hurt last year, she probably would've finished last year at #4, not Clijsters. And who knows? If her injuries hadn't followed her into this year she'd no doubt be in much better shape right now, too. I wish her luck in Rome, and especially at the French Open.

But isn't that always the case with Amelie?

She has a raft of nagging injuries.

It leaves me wondering about her conditioning program.

I think all her injuries have either been back problems or knee/leg problems. Not positive about that, but I think so. if so, that might give you a clue as to what goes wrong with her.

She just needs to be healthy for one full year. That's all I ask. then we'll see something, but she cannot afford to waste more time.
