The 'all belgian final' sounds like a title that could headline a slam real soon. Good for both the girls and congatulations :D

No one ever seems to tire of "all American" finals. Yuck. How many of those have we had in history. All those agassi Sampras things. Not to mention courier and chang thrown in there and then the women. Evert-Austin, Evert-Navratilova... and williams-capriati, and williams-williams. God I can't even begin to count all of them. High time another country rode high.

 Oh my dear Starr, not to "beat a dead horse", but you can't be serious...!!!??? There was such commotion and uproar whenever there was a "Sister-Sister" final, that people constantly complained of how "boring" they were!!! And, the endless comments about "how tired" people were of an all "Williams" final; they were "hurting" womens tennis, etc., etc., etc.

Again, I ask, with all sincerity, will people soon "tire" of an "all Belgian" final in every tournament...!!!???

So Kim now leads the Chase Race. I am too lazy to make the math whether takes over the Race #1 if she wins tomorrow. But if Kim wins, she will have a VERY good shot at #1 within next two monthes.

Wow!! When was the other all Belgian final. I'm so sad this isn't on ESPN .....damn the Tennis Channel.

Anyway I love both players but I'm rooting for Justine b/c I don't think she has the game to beat Kim on any other surface. But hopefully for those watching it will be an entertaining match regardless.

to be very exact: it is the fourth one!

a few years before, Dominique Van Roost and Laurence Courtois played the final of a Tier V in Cardiff (if i remember correctly, with Van Roost winning). I think her name was still Monami back then.

Sven

No, cos we wont see them very often! Pretty soon, when the Williamses can be bothered to show up, we'll be back to the same fucking boring stuff again, with little snippets between games of Richard Williams generally making a twat of himself courtside.

1996 Cardiff: Van Roost def. Courtois 6-4 6-2 ;)

The one thing we can be sure of tomorrow is that there are no mixed feelings on either side. Both of the finalists will want to win with all their hearts. And, they aren't going to feel bad about playing each other. They are going to revel in the competition. I hope it's a great match with both of them clawing and fighting and trying to win.

Yeah, and the other thing is the Belgians don't go around avoiding each other or seeing which one of them needs a tier I tournament and withdrawing to give the other one a better shot at winning it.

The level of Henin's tennis in the meetings between these to hasn't always been great you know. However I'm sure it won't be a problem this time. Just don't know who to support: too difficult being Belgian, but so great at the same time :D

I agree that Justine's tennis is not always very good against Kim but when Venus and Serena plays against one another, it's just not good to see because the tennis SEEMS very careful - not exciting.

I think this is true sometimes. But always, Justine is very upset about her loss. It is never "ok" with her, and she isn't celebrating Kim's win. I believe both these girls want to win equally as much.

Yes...I hope this match will be extra special for Justine cos she said that she's going to dedicate this match to her deceased mother on mother's day, that's today. For Justine supporters, let's hope she gets her help from her mum from up above, or even do it herself to play well.
All the best Justine! :bounce:

 You're absolutely fucking right; not often 'cause they won't be that "consistent". Oh my, concerned are you that the Sisters don't wear themselves out (pimping for points) by playing so little??? Thought you'd be happy about that; less chances of them beating the Belgians!! And, yes, Richard can be a "little abrasive", but what the hell, Justine doesn't "talk" to her dad and of course Kim's dad is "threatening" to not let her talk to the press!!! Nevermind, that all that Richard predicted for his daughters came true!!! And, I see the only "twat" is perhaps you, yourself!!!???!!!

I guess as far as Richard is concerned, you can "drink his drawers"!!! :p :p And, for me; two tears in a "bucket", if that don't fill it "muther fuck it"...

Oh yes, it will be the greatest battle we have ever seen just like at the Championships where the score was like 6-1, 6-2 Kim.

IMO the all Belgian finals are bad for the sport, they will destroy tennis. Just unforced error then winner. UE, winner!!! They will make tennis boring. They never seem to be able to produce their best tennis against each other. Wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!

ROTFLMAO! Shall I say double standards? Whatever people!!

It amazes me that any Williams fan would want to compare the sisters finals to the Belgian finals. Seeing as Justine and Kim have met in finals twice, only one of which was a relatively large tournament, I think that it's a bit of an insult to the Williams Sisters dominance to make such a comparison.

Filip!
May 11th, 2003, 07:29 AM
I think some people are frustrated because Clijsters is breaking the Williamses Top 2-dominance in the rankings!
