I've read confirmation of the two playing doubles, but would like to know what the most recent news is. It would be good to see the retirees for perhaps one last time.

Last I heard, Andre was still trying to convince Steffi :)

Great, it means they may have at chance at making Los Angeles if they enter all the major tournaments together.

Is anyone else thinking that Graf may not enter after all? :(

If Steffi doesn't enter we'll all blame Andre then.

It would be so great if they both made the mixed final.

I´m totally interested in doubles due to Martina and the key to LA qualifying is overtaking Black/Elena which will be tough due to them both playing more

Ai/Kim, Lindsay/Lisa and Virgina/Paola are too far away to be overtaken

Sveta/Martina must do extremely well in Wimbledon to have a chance later this season

Regarding Steffi: She gave an interview a month ago or so in a German newspaper where she said she LOVES the idea but is sceptical without training

She admitted though that she kind of intensed her training in recent weeks ;) but wouldn´t want to play without being 100%

I believe that the silence regarding this (mixed) which came up in recent weeks is a tactical one due to Steffi testing herself right now and that she told the French organizers not telling anyone around as this is a last minute decision to enter

I bet Steffi could pick up a racket and get into top 20 by the end of the year if she wanted to. She is a true perfectionist (22 grand slams in pretty damn perfect!) I do hope she plays, that would be a lot of fun to see!

I'm sure you would, but I guess you couldn't abandon your commentating commitments right Pam?

graf is never really exciting to watch, how can any professional play with only the forehand??

steffi's backhand is the most discussed backhand of all time so obvious very exciting!

I disagree... Graf has complete tennis skills... she doesn't rely solely on her forehand...
i'm sure many of her opponents had been troubled by her sliced backhand...
