If she plays at high level and reach the SF at RG and Wimbledon, I think she's the new top 10 after Wimbledon :)
It's possible because Justine and Kim done it at 2001
Good Luck Vera

Just because she won Bol... beating players ranked near 100... does not mean she will reach the SF of both slams.

hmmm... how many players has she beaten that are ranked above her, currently?

what leena said.

Also, SF's wouldn't be enough for Vera... she'd need at least 1100 more points... that would require a couple finals.

I like Vera... but not happening. :p

 Not so soon.. next year, next year!

Leena

Nah... not next year.

Lena needs to start whooping her ass again, and show Vera who rules Russian tennis. :)

Anna Kournikova?

SerenaSlam

no! the only thing right now Anna K is in control/rules of is her Pussy, literally. Since everyone is trying to get in her pants, and on in the stands to see her now a days, that seems to be the only thing she can actually claim, and have for herself :)

Anna Kournikova?
No, Anna rules the challenger circuit.

Lena beats other Russians 6-2, 6-1.

May 6th, 2003, 04:16 AM
And I'm so sure the other Russian played so well that day.

No indication of that yet. In fact, while her rankings are #25, her total in the Race is around #25 as well. Meaning, that her results this year so far did not improve comparing to her results over last 52 weeks. Given that she has a ton ( by her standards ) of points to defend at RG, it will take a a major effort for her to be even in Top 20 after Wimbledon.

No... Lena just overpowered her because she is the best. She should be #1! *angry MSN face*

Shoulda, Coulda, Woulda... wait, yeah ok, thats right..

Leena
May 6th, 2003, 04:22 AM
Vera coulda won more than 3 games... then I wouldn't be having this fake argument. :p

Jordan.
May 6th, 2003, 04:24 AM
Vera's won 15 and 19 games before, so ha!

Leena
May 6th, 2003, 04:26 AM
Their 2000 Moscow match doesn't count because Lena sucked back then. :)

Jordan.
May 6th, 2003, 04:27 AM
..and Vera was the fucking Venus Williams.

Leena
May 6th, 2003, 04:30 AM
No, she wasn't... Lena already proved she's better than Venus.

16-year-old Vera was on top of her game that day though. She caught Lena at the right time. Lucky gal.

Don't you just hate how people compare Elena and Venus? I mean, seriously, its so obvious Elena is better... better serve, better speed, hits amazing winners, C'mon WTAworld, everyone knows Elena is the best!

I don't know why you two are argueing because we all know that the #1 Russian this year will not be Vera, it will not be Lena (and unfortunately, it won't be Anna  ), but Nastya. :D

As for Vera, I think she'll definately finish the year in the top 15, but I don't see her in the top 10 until this time next year.

Damn straight... it doesn't matter that Venus is a former #1, and Lena is #16.

Lena won 3-6, 6-4, 7-5... and that is all that matters.

Thanks. :)

I know Nastya will be the #1 Russian this year... but don't stop my blind love of Lena. :)

Lena will be #1 Russian soon though.

Vera Z will surely be Top 10 after Wimbledon.

Wimbledon 2004, that is...

I predict 5 Russians in the Top 15 by this time next year -

Dementieva, Nastya, Vera Z, Spider-Woman, and Kuznetsova.
