Jane Nejedly and Maureen are playing better then both Wartush and the other player this year! The only match I see Austria having a good chance is in doubles! The only chance that Austria has is if Schwartz plays. Even if Babsi Schett plays, I don't think she'll beat a Canadian girl if you look at her current form!

the difference is that Wartusch is playing WTA events and Drake, Nejedly and Webb Challengers when has Webb or Nejedly last reached the second round of WTA event ? :lick:

Wartush wouldn't even win a challenger!

V.Melb
May 2nd, 2003, 01:03 AM
Wartusch should not even be compared to those sub-standard canadian challenger girls.

Patricia has something they never will have....
2 WTA SINGLES TITLES~!!!

The canadian challenger brigade have a total of ZERO! to their name!
At least Wartusch can keep her ranking high enough to consistently play on the WTA tour, and not be relegated to challengers to get her ranking up all the time.

The Coolman
May 2nd, 2003, 02:59 AM
er......Mareen did that like 2 weeks ago....
and she has reached Grand Slam's 4R.....
which Wartusch never did......:D

and Jana reached a Tier I QF,

btw, Patricia lost last 6 out of 7........
and Jana is on a 16 match winning streak,
i'm sorry, but

AUSTRIA IS GOING DOWN............:D

Switzerland looks like the favourite out of all of them!!! Israel should be moderately easy, maybe hard with the Anna, but hopefully they play on Grass.

I also predict Austria to win :)

go South Africa! Since July is winter down here, they will probably play indoors in Johannesburg, rather than outdoors Cape Town. Well, I'll just have to fly to Jo'burg then....

Xian
May 2nd, 2003, 09:36 AM
also Sybille Bammer defeated Jana Nejedly so ;)

Jana reached a Tier I QF, when in 1992 ;)

and the matches are on clay where the Canadians should be lucky to win a set :bounce:

is it allowed for the teams to field different players in the playoffs?

May 2nd, 2003, 02:02 PM
i don't think the swiss should choose to play on grass. i would give pistolesi a pretty far chance of beating patty on grass (remember patty lost 6-1, 6-2 to martinez at wimbledon last year). there also are not many quality grass courts in switzerland, although i guess the tie will be played in the hotter months so it could be ok. i think you got to figure that pistolesi is dangerous to us on all surfaces, but her form of late is not like last year so she is pretty beatable. playing on grass also makes myriam the one we have to rely on in reality, and i think that's a risky strategy. i personally would chose the traditional hard-court that is used in the us summer season because it is a surface which is pretty fast, but too fast, and patty, myriam, and manu have all had good results on it, while pistolesi to my memory has not.

anyway i am sure will we win and get back to the world group where we belong, and martina will come back and we will be crowned champions in 2004!

Please. Who is playing for Austria? Schett? lmao. Wartusch? lol. The Canucks already have played on clay so they'll have a feel for it. I wont be surprised if Canada loses, but they have a chance to win.

Wartush has titles  Must be a very week Tier 5 cuz she is bad! She even got...DOUBLE BAGLED by Anna K!

Xian
May 2nd, 2003, 10:36 PM
hm Nejedly, Webb and Drake are having no titles, because they are bad  I dont say that the Canadian girls cant playing tennis but to be honest they wont have a chance.

Nejedly, Webb and Drake are playing for ages and have never won a tournament yet. Im sure that one of these girls also have lost to Anna as well and thats not a shame.

even if the Babsis are not playing Im sure that even Bammer and Meusburger can defeat a Nejedly or Webb (she has only a big serve) cause they have no weapons. Jana and Maureen do not belong to the top 100 get it ;)

Xian
May 2nd, 2003, 10:39 PM
and yes every time Patricia is winning a tournament only the weakest players of the tour are competing Nancy Loeffler-Caro, Maria-Alessandra Termini, Ariela Primo, Maureen Drake and Jana Nejedly

What the fuck is your problem? Do you have a problem against Canadian players?

May 3rd, 2003, 12:26 AM
Canada doesn't stand a chance against Austria! Ok, so the Barabaras are out of form, but Canada really isn't that good. Austria won't lose a set.

Croatia should play on grass just for the heck of it (and so that we can say we beat an opponent on grass)

Good Statement, I totally forgot about The Surface that Patty doesn't enjoy playing on, actually yeah the American Hard Courts would be the best I think to play on, Clay either for the Matter aswell, Emmanuelle, Patty, Myriam, all have good results on Hard Court, especially with Emmanuelle in Indian Wells, also On Clay would be also good, Emmanuelle, Myriam, Patty were all bought up on clay, and have done reaosnably well on it, so Clay or Hardcourts would be my option, I still predict Switzerland to win anyway, and on any surface they play on.

Wartush has titles  Must be a very week Tier 5 cuz she is bad! She even got...DOUBLE BAGLED by Anna K!

They maybe weak, but atleast a title is a title, which to an advantage she has, and anyway, Patricia Wartusch is the player who has the most double bagels agains't her. So it's not really surprising.

I don't tihnk Xian has trouble with Canadian players, you could ask the same for Coolman, Coolio 1,2,3,4,5 who had to push the button in the first place.

Well, I'm not taking Austria's side, but Anna has almost double bageled Nejedly ;) (6-1 6-0)

It'll be interesting, but I think if it's on clay Austria SHOULD win.

And go Japan! :D

well, Barbara Schett is on a 8 matches losing streak,
Barbara Schwartz hasnt played since AO,
and she's pretty much retired........

for Patricia, she's defending her title from last yr
the week before Fed Cup........
so when Fed Cup runs around,
Mareen and Jana will probably
be ranked higher than her,
and Sybille is 3-11 now.....
as if she is gonna beat us..
so u Astrains, be prepared.......
coz WE ARE GONNA KICK UR AAAAAAAAAAAAAARSS:D
