Why does Herrera degrade herself by entering a challenger when she could (and should) be playing a tier level event???? After beating Gianna 3 times ( a top 10 player) I'm sure Ana Maria is confident enough to play more tier events! ;)

After a struggle, Nicoletta beats little sis

Ecuador's Nicoletta Lapentti hits a forehand to sister Juliana in the quarterfinals of the 25K Cagnes-sur-mers. Nicoletta was dominated in the first set losing 0-6 in 17 minutes. She bounced back to win the final two sets 6-1 & 6-3 playing superb clay court tennis. Here is what the sisters had to say following the match.

~Nicoletta~ I'm so thrilled to have won! I think she was playing some amazing tennis and I really had to do something special to beat her. She is one of the best junior claycourt player but I think she could challenge the very best. I'm really happy with how I played after the first set. It was my best tennis since the Australian Open. I decided to go back to the challenger circuit because I need to get some confidence in my game because I know I have all the things to beat the big girls but I'm not confident in my shots like I should be. Anne-Laure will be tough but I have a really great shot at it.

~Juliana~ I had it. It's dissapointing but I'm happy for her. She had been struggling this year with her game so I hope that this win will get her back on track because she is such a fantastic player. I still have the doubles so I hope I'll win it with her!
