She is playing doubles with Alicia Molik this week. And in the first round of singles she will play Patricia Wartusch, and in my opinion has a good draw.
Lets hope she takes advantage of it :D :D

Good Luck Magui! :bounce:

P.S How many points is Magui defending this week?

MS
May 18th, 2003, 09:22 PM
She's defending around 50, I have to check. I think she can do well here. ¡¡VAMOS!! :):):). A shame I can't go this year, I went last year.

Good luck to Magui.
in both Singles and Doubles.
It's too late to affect the possibility of seeding for RG, but for Wimbledon Magui could be seeded...

Thanks MS :D
I, like others think that Magui could reach the finals :D :D :D But Wartusch, Molik, Ruano-Pascual & Fernandez may be difficult opponents to overcome!

I think it won't be easy to go far, she has to play as she is playing lately, but I hope that she can do well.

Here a small interview I found and translated of some days ago:

Question: Are you euphoric?
Answer: I’m happy, very happy, and with a lot of moral.
Q.: Will the year 2003 be Magüi’s year?
A.: Sure, I’m trying everything so that it’s that way.
Q.: You have lost weight, haven’t you?
A.: Yes, exactly six kilos. I have given up eating bread.
Q.: And is that why you are playing better?
A.: It isn’t that these six kilos were killing me, but I’m much better physically, and as the results are good, the happiness is double.
Q.: What’s your schedule?
A.: Now Rome; later, if I’m not too tired, Madrid, and later Roland Garros. We have to plan well the season. Otherwise, we would finish shattered.
Q.: Do you bother talking about Arantxa?
A.: Not at all. She has been the best Spanish player and it will be very hard to find a substitute for her, although the young players are good.
Q.: Your candidates?
A.: Marta Marrero and Anabel Medina, for example.
Q.: And you?
A.: I’m not the one that has to give her opinion about this.
Q.: Do you follow other sports?
A.: Yes, I love all of them
Q.: Do you support the U.D. Las Palmas?
A.: Yes, I support the football team of my city, but I think we’ll have to wait another season to sing the ‘pío pío’ in the First Division.
Q.: Do you have many ‘suitors’?
A.: The ones I have are many and very good friends.

Will Magui be playing with Alicia in the French Open doubles?

MS
May 20th, 2003, 01:12 PM
Hmm, I don't know for sure, but I would say Magüi will play with Boogie, but maybe Alicia, no idea.

Magui beat Wartusch in an easy 6-2 6-2 :bounce: Well Done Magui, next up is Maria Sanchez-Lorenzo who crept past Nicole Pratt in Round 1. The pair have never played each other before.
Good luck Magui, you can do it :D :D

Sorry that I didn't post Magüi's score, coz I received it, but I had left home 2-3 minutes before, so no comp ;) (anyway, I've seen you didn't get the score too late ;)). I've been told that Magüi has played great ;). Mª Antonia won't be easy, but I hope that Magüi wins (but if she loses, at least the win would be for abother player I like)

Well done Magui. Has Magui now played every week for the last 7/8 weeks? She has played most weeks, I hope she does not get too tired before Roland Garros and the grass court season, where Magui always does well :) Good luck against Toni, but if Magui loses a few days rest would be good! :)

Yeah, Magüi has been playing too much lately, and I hope that she isn't too tired for Paris. I agree, I want Magüi to win today, but if she loses, we can see the positive thing of the defeat, more days to rest. I think today's match won't be easy, because María seems to be playing well, but I hope that Magüi can win. I've been told that if she plays like she did yesterday, not many players that are playing this week in Madrid could defeat her.

pfff, Magüi hadn't lost to a lower-ranked player for a long time and she did today

Anyway, she has now time to rest for RG, where I hope that she has a nice draw and hopefully I'll be there...

Also hope she gets a good RG draw!
