According to NOS Teletext:

Boogert/Oremans d. Baltacha/Pullin 63 64

Theiir table shows GB above Poland, but I imagine that is because it is not important to Dutch TV to have the placings of GB and Poland correct.

The reason for relegating 5 teams is to try to reduce Group 1 to 16 teams for next year. Now, if only 3 European nations are relegated after the World Group play-offs (leading to 15 teams in Group 1) will GB be reinstated?

I wasn't cheering for Britain to LOSE, i was simply cheering for the Netherlands to WIN! ;) Im sorry Paul...but I wanted Poland to go through. Oh well. I sure hope that Britain some how does not get relegated to the group, cuz IMO it is kinda unfair that Netherlands gets to go through as they had a bad start and Poland actually beat them. If GBR gets relegated, we all know that they would return to the Group 1 in 2005. Well congrats Britain on getting that set off Netherlands, good luck to Netherlands, I hope they take advantage of their big opportunity. I feel so bad for Poland!

paul_masterton
Apr 26th, 2003, 01:27 PM
Jakub - Monica_Rules and others were cheering for Hungary to win - i was not.

If you find me a quote where i go "i hope hungary win and poland loose" i'll retract my statement.

So don't say "lol who was cheering for Hunagry" to me when i wasn't.

And i agree its pretty shodding netherlands going through, i know i'm biased, but i think Poland and Britain overall were the better teams.

See you guys in 2005! And this time we'll stay up!!

where almost back out of the hole we dug ourselves. patty is up a set and 4-1, so switzerland is just 2 games from being into world-group qualifying, and then winning in 2004.

patty def oremans 6-3,6-1 and switzerland is finally back on the right track again after the last few year's constant agonisingly close losses. the girls only dropped 1 set all week!! i really think they will be back in the world group next year, because patty is back IMO and myriam is just going to get better and better
