This has probably already been discussed, but I find this really exciting! She's hopped from 54 to 47 :D

Oh, I forgot to mention...her highest career ranking was 45 (February 18, 2002). She'll overtake that in no time!

YAY!!!! That's certainly made my weekend! I've had two disappointing losses (Linds & Alicia) but to know that each of them have secured stronger rankings is comforting to me.

Alicia has really impressed me this season. She was strong at the Hopman Cup and has played consistent in most tourneys. She's made it to the finals of two clay tourneys this year...and clay isn't her surface! That's great news. I hope it'll give her confidence for the rest of the clay season.

I SOOOO hope that Alicia climbs steadily. I don't want too many lofty goals for her. I hope she makes it to the top 30 this year and just plays consistently. I want her to enjoy her matches and to be happy. I think those are key things. If she enjoys what she's doing and she's happy, then the results will certainly come because she's certainly talented as hell!!!

GO ALICIA!!! Keep climbing!!!! :bounce: :bounce:

*yay* Alicia!!

I'll make a bold prediction - she'll be the top ranked Australian female player by the FO.

She's now only 2 places behind Pratt and less than 40 points there separating them.

he he I should have put not-so-bold ;)

Seriously if Alicia keeps on progressing the way she is and Nicole continues to lose in the first round of tournaments she will be passed.

I'd love to see Alicia play some more Tier II tournaments now that she's cracked the top 50.

Frankly, I think Alicia is doing the right thing by competing in the lower tier clay-court events. If anything, it's testing her skills as a clay-court player. So far it has paid dividends so she deserves to be ranked where she is at.

Yeah, I agree. She's shown us all she can mix it on clay with those ranked higher than her. A little more improvement and she can move up to higher tier clay tournys. But she's doing great! I mean, look at her ranking after playing so few tournys and they were mostly low tier.
