Today ESPN pre-empted MENS football (soccer) in favor of WOMEN's tennis for more than half an hour when Cappy-Davey when into the third set. It would never happen in Europe. God Bless the USA!

thats because Tennis is a bigger sport than Soccer (which is weird because in the us almost every kid plays soccer)

if Basketball followed Tennis, and tennis ran over, oh well

that's exactly it - in the US, soccer is seen as a sport that's not good for anything except keeping the kids occupied for a couple of hours so you can save money on the baby-sitter. It's hilarious that the rest of the world takes soccer so seriously! I personally cannot watch that shit for more than 2 minutes.

You want to say that a bit louder? Or have you not yet realized that more than just Americans occupy this board?

Well if that is the case, what's the big deal about the channel pre-empting it for tennis? Jon is right, Eurosport do this all the time.
