Doubles Ranking

Had a big question about Serena and her ranking. She has a real good chance at the French Open to become maybe number 4 or 5 doubles player in the world

Here are the rankings right now, i doubt Venus and Serena play at the Italian. But Serena and Venus got like 836 points for winnig the australian. If they play the French and win, They would get around maybe 750-800 points, that would but Serena at around 2677-2727. Consider than Im sure Suarez, Ruano, Husarova, Raymond, being doubles players, will have points coming off, unlike Serena, the only points she has coming off are Wimbledon. I think if they play the French and Wimbledon Serena could be a set maybe number 4 player in doubles, and if she were to win usopen, and get the grandslam in doubles, she could be around 2 or 3, but will need to play some extra tournies to get number 1. But its clear Serena could do it, and with her and venus as partners she has a very good chance, but its all a matter of whether or not she plays in the slams :)

V and Rena won 6-4 in the third on Rebound Ace, so Clay is going to be tougher....they could still win though

Actually, this is the only surface that ViVi and Paola beat Venus and Serena.

I believe it was either the 1998 or 1999 Italian Open, in the final, back when both Venus and Serena were different players.

Mind you, it was still three sets from an inexperienced doubles team of the sisters. ;)

Also Kim has nothing to defend at FO indoubles and will play ROme and Berlin too, so she won't be that easy to pass

yeah, but as you can see, vivi and paola really don't have a chance when venus/serena are playing well.

Like Pam Shriver said during the match up downunda, Virgina and Paola have had chances, but the bad thing for them is, they are playing great, and the sisters are playing very poorly and there still is not that big of a gap in the match.

If they were playing anyone else that day playing that bad, Virgina and Paola would've won like 6-2 6-3, but b/c its the sisters, and mentally they are so tough, they weren't going down w/out a fight, matter of fact, they weren't going to go down. Clay is their best surface, but venus/serena both have improved over the past year on the clay. Hell you can say they are better than both of them when it comes to the clay. So if they are playing well, against number 1 right now, it should always be a straight sets win, but if they are off in any way, that is virigina/paola only/real chance.

good point, but like i said, im not sure if Venus, unless she skips Rome, would want to play Singles and Doubles at the FO
