i'm a tall and built guy, so i'm able to generate power on my shots. infact, it makes it more convenient for me since i can simply serve it out when i'm trailing. however, due to my coach's advice, i rush to the net sometimes but mostly hit an ugly or not-good-enough volley; or try an embarassing drop shot. that makes me a power player and i'm working on that other aspect of my game. though sometimes, i feel more comfortable with my baseline power game. it's a little frustrating though especially when i read in another school paper that had an article about the tennis match i played, describing me as the "goliath" and the "obviously less talented" player in the match even though i won. :o

so enough about me. :o what kind of player are you? :)

i am more of a power player, my game is just like Mirjana Lucic, i smack the ball, but over-hit it very often :o

I can hit the ball very very VERY hard, in fact some of my opponents go down on their knees and BEG me to stop hitting the ball so hard. However I am also very very VERY thoughtful on the court, I can slice the ball, hit high top spins, attack the net, do some incredible dropshots, in fact some of my opponent also go down on their knees and BEG me to stop throwing their game off with my brilliant finess and variety. So it's a combination of both, I'm just incredible. :wavey:

I'm more of a finesse player actually...
I have an onorhodox style because I use a 2-handed forehand and a 1-handed backhand.
I hit my forehand hard and with a big angle, and I try to hit my backhand either with spin or slice, I hit like 15+ dropshots a match too. :)
My serve is always well placed, and I really go for my returns.

Well...I'm neither of them.. I'm way too skinny and wimpy to hit the ball hard enough to be considered a power player.. in fact my opponents always get bored and go down on ther knees and beg me to hit harder or at least the hardest I can. But I'm not just a wimp.. I'm such a retarded loser than I can't even use brains on the court and making every possible stupid shot like attempting a drop shot from a few feet behind the baseline when my opponent is actually at the net. Points pile up for my opponents and they get bored again and go down on their knees and beg me to be smarter or at least the smartest I can be..
So, unfortunately I can't seem to put myself in either category.....sigh....

Does anyone else belong to this dead poet society?

Finesse. I can bang 'em with the best of them, but I use that with placement in order to come to the net. The most satisfying shot for me in all of tennis is to hit a cross-angle volley to win the point, and then watch my opponent walk 3 courts down to retrieve the ball.

Oh, and disclaimer... Ask your coach to work with you on split-stepping on your way to the net. It will work wonders for "de-ugly-fying" your volleys. It's a bit of a PITA to learn, but once you have it down I bet you'll be switching to an all-courter.

I like to hit the ball very very hard, but sometimes I have to hit it soft, I cant quite seem to get the balance between control and power, some day every ball I smack the shit out of lands in sometimes it dont, and I have to creampuff the ball back to my opponent.

Something else entirely...lol I have a huge serve, but not always consistent with it, it's either on or it's not even there....and I can hit hard sometimes but I don't feel comfortable hitting every shot hard (I don't have great control) I love hitting volleys though, I'm pretty good at those...I have one hand forehand and one hand backhand....I use slice backhand alot (mostly on accident)

Hmmmm...I'm a power player who plays defense well. My first option is to go for winners but I will work points over by changing pace and spins until I can unleash a winner.

Definitely not power. Rather finesse, if that means drop-shots, lobs, slice etc. But also quite a lot of incredibly stupid errors.

I am a hardhitter!!!

Yes that causes many UEs, but it feels so good to have someone in the ropes because of your power!!! right-left-right-left-right-right and you finally win a point on an icredible backhand winner (well that is for me :p!)

OMG! That's just like me!!! Even the 2-handed forehand & the single-handed backhand
