hehe i love both ladies so i dont mind who wins :hearts: :hearts: but i have a soft spot 4 Alex (even tho she insists on tormenting me with her results LOL) :)
who do you think will win? its on clay (Dani leads 1-0), but their only meeting on clay was on Red Clay, and the H2H is4-1 in Danis favor:
but Alex can claim she won the last match. its an interesting match up (for me) i saw the last match and i thought it was pretty good (prolly biased)
so who do you think will win? :bounce:

I agree it is an interesting one, featuring 2 players who seem to be having trouble living up to expectations.
But I pick Daniela to win it, because she is way better on clay. She will move Alex around, and an Alex out of position is an Alex with a UE. And further, Alex's big serve, which I am sure played a big part in her victory over Dani indoors, will be blunted on clay.
It's good to see Alex out there trying on her worst surface, but I don't think she is ready to beat a top-10 player on it, at this time.

i'm hoping alex will win but you never know how she will play plus put that on her worst surface.
i don't really mind who wins because i want them both to get a title sometime this year but i also want dementieva to get a title and if she beats coetzer she'll be playing the winner of these two ladies.

i agree Alex on clay is not an impressive site
but she missed it (the clay season) last year (through injury) and so every win here can help her no-ends. :)
GO ALEX :)

Well, Alex is definitely not a clay courter. In fact, she cant stand clay and she is playing a RG quarterfinalist, even tho Dani's in a slump.
Still, Ill say Dani def. Alex 6-3 6-2

Daniela never made it to the Quarterfinals at Roland Garros.;)
Alexandra needs this match, and she definitely can win. Yesterday, she had more winners than UFE, so that is a good sign.

Oh! I thought I remembered Alex skipping the clay season last year, but I don't think I ever knew it was due to injury! I guess I thought she just didn't feel like playing! :D
Well then, best of luck to her in her clay adventures of 2003. As I said, I don't think she'll win this one, but she did win one match already. Good for her to give it a shot; hey, anything can happen! :)

Dementieva is actually playing well these last couple of weeks

daniela made the fourth round of Roland Garros last year, falling 4-6 5-7 to Seles.
Both players had to struggle to win their first matches. You would have to give the edge to daniela, but I really think Stevenson has a shot here. Hantuchova isn't in great form, and Alex must take a little more confidence into this match, knowing she won the last time that they played.

Alex will probably get crushed...she don't have the patience or the movement for clay...
OMG  Jelena looks like she want to kill Alex for her curtsy(sp) to the crowd

No offense... but just about every other Round of 16 match is better. Stick girl hasn't been playing well lately, and Alex on clay *giggle*. Whoever wins will get slapped by Mandy (hopefully Alyona, but I'm realistic  ) in the QF anyway...

i'm sure she did that time, and i think she still does. ok come on now, we're talking about Alex, the 0 hit wonder, at least Hantuchova IS a 1 hit wonder, so far.

Logically Alex has a chance because she beat Els who I think mixes it up more then Daniela. So if Alex beat Els then she should also beat Daniela. (laughs)
Honestly it depends on which player/s show up.
They are both like a box of chocolates(white chocolate incuded) cause you never know what your gonna get.
Head says Alex will get moved around like a rag doll, heart says she will keep her UE's down and play solid tennis that she is capable of playing.
