i have 2 racquets and i can't decide which one is the best one for me. with one of them i get extra power but it is difficult to control the ball if i have to improvise with my action and i make a few more unforced errors (but my back hand is more powerful, consistent and accurate with this racquet) and my serve can be very up and down (1st and 2nd), also it is hard to hit a ball back when i want to hit it softly. with the other racquet i don't get as much power but i can't get more top spin on my forehand but i can't control my back hand very well (i can't put much top spin on it which is the main way i hit my backhand), with this raquet my serve is more consistent but not as powerful but less accurate. they are about the same up at net.

the main things i'm think about are my backhand and my serve. with the first racquet my backahnd is a lot better but the serve is inconsistent whereas with the 2nd racquet mys backhand is a lot less powerul and harder to get in but the serve is more consistent.

this is really annoying my game because i keep swapping racquets because i don't know which one is better. help.

why dont u use the raquet with more power for your service games, and use the raquet which gives u more control for return games........cos essentially your meant to be the aggressor when u serve, and when your returning keeping control is the most important thing.

i have the same problem. i havea heavy raquet strung at 65 which suits my baseline game but it detracts alot of power from my serve.....if i were to ever play a serious game i would probably use my other lighter raquet to serve cos id get alot more free easy points!

..or, ofcourse you could just buy a new raquet! but i think you should demo a wide variety atleast ten raquets..ask ur friends to use theirs and dont just buy one impulsively like i always do ;)

yeah but the one with more power is inconsistent on the serve. the other racquet is still effective on the serve except for when i play the really good players.

i'm thinking about using the more pwoerful racquet because my backhand is quite a bit better with it. for singles i think that is what i should do maybe for doubles i should use the other one. but it also depends on the opponent because if the opponent likes to rally then i'd be better off gooing with the less powerful one and rallying with them.

I just demo-ed 10 racquets last week!! It was a long two hours, but worth it. I picked the racquest that helped out my backhand, because like my coach said, "you can always fix your serve."

Hope that helps! :wavey:
