Thanks for your prediction SpikeyAidanm :hearts:

Happy to know Tanasugarn will be in top 30 by your prediction. I'm curious to know the reason why you put Tanasugarn at 28. And also Patty at 33.

Rtael
Apr 16th, 2003, 05:13 AM
And yes Patty will be gone, Harkelroad will move up and Tansugarn will retire (hides)

Rtael

Farine Elia will also retire, Maleeva won't fall quite as much and MAry Pierce will finish 2003 ahead of Schnyder ;)

SpikeyAidanm
Apr 16th, 2003, 05:19 AM
Tanasugarn will be in the top30 because she's generally such a consistent performer. She won't have a good clay court season but she has already had a good year winning Hyperbad and I see her performing wel of the US Summer and in the Asian circuit.

Patty will drop to 33, well she has been injured and out of form recently. She will drop to around 30 already after not defending her Charleston RU (unless she has one spectacular week in Amelia Island, and she still has Zurich to defend at the end of the year.

Thanks for your prediction SpikeyAidanm :hearts:

I actually agree, I think Farina Elia may retire, however Tanasugarn won't. Pierce will probably finish ahead of Schynder, but she won't finish that high (eg top 25) because remember she has a French Open QF to defend and she's very injury prone.

She definately has the potential for that rank, but I'm afriaf injury has gotten the better of her, even if she does throw in some good results, I doubt they will be consistent enuf for a top 10 birth, unless she starts playing as well as she did as the start of last year

you all are dropping Venus like she isn't going to do well b/c of 1 loss. What is the matter with you people? 1 Loss the entire year, against the entire year w/ the exception of little Sis. Venus has the best record on tour besides Serena. Come on people, they will be number 1 and 2 for the end.

I think Lindsay davenport is going to overtake number 3. Kim right now With Venus adding points for Berlin and Rome, is going to have to actually EARN her ranking of number 2 when its get taken back by Venus after Hamburg points come off.

Year End

1. Serena
2. Venus
3. Lindsay

i predict that we will see most of your predictions as the utter crap they are at the end of year :) patty has points to defend in charlseton, which pushes her to 21 (not 30 and that does not include amelia island's potential points) and zurich to defend. so patty is just going to sit out the rest of year and just let her ranking drop then? patty performances in charlseton and zurich last year were two big highlights in an otherwise average year. it is not like she suddenly isn't playing well and will never be the same. you just don't understand the her nature. last year she won 1 of 5 matches leading to charlseton and lost to anca barna two weeks after. that is just patty. she will win or atleast do something big this year, and mark my words "She will be in the top twenty, and no way will she be ranked below alicia molik!". I won't run away from this comment either if it turns out not to be true.

I Think Ann K. Will Be In The Top 40 Before The Year Is Out, Even The Top 30. I Think!! I Keep Looking At The Way She Played A Few Years Ago, And I Believe That Even If She Finds 40% Of That Again It Would Be Enough To Move Up Quite A Bit In The Rankings. I'm Not A Big Fan Of Hers, But I Loved The Way She Used To Compete!!! I Appreciate Good Tennis!!

I can see Amanda between no 9 and no 12... probably (and unfortunately) more to no 12 than no 9 - I think if she can do well this week though, it will give her a major boost. Her results after Wimbledon are generally poor - but considering that she only has points at Moscow to defend, she can really make a run for it if she plays a sensible schedule. GO AMANDA

Well, why not? Henin-Hardenne has done something twice that Venus hasn't been able to do on any surface in the past twelve months. I'll leave it to you to figure out what that is.
Besides, if Henin-Hardenne can get through Rome and Berlin and manage to defend her points from those tournaments, she doesn't really have that much to defend the rest of the season. I think it's very possible that she could get to number 2 in the world -- especially when you look at the way she's been playing lately (14-1 since the start of Dubai and two titles in her past three events).

Not such bad predictions, don't you reckon

:wavey:

I actually thought yours were pretty good. I see that most everyone posting was overlooking a certain person and NO ONE put her where she ended up at the end of the year.

I speak of the amazing one. The one and only -- Ai Sugiyama!!

Yea!!!!!!

Well, Justine's #1 would certainly be in question had Venus and Serena played after Wimbledon.

In April this did not seem likely.

Justine definitely deserves the #1 ranking, having beaten the former #1 TWICE this year, although she lost her last match with Serena. Kim got NADA this year when it came to big matches.

To me it is Serena, Venus, Justine are the best players by a wide margin, then Kim, Jennifer, Lindsay, and the rest of the top ten.
