Well, I never thought I would see Ash in the SF on the FCC a week ago. I guess it is a good thing. Her ranking has nearly been split, 101 to 56. I got only a small clip of her playing in the SF against Justine, which she bowed out of obviously. She doesn't have much size, but it seemed and sounded as if she put her all into each point. An amazing week. She took out some of the hardest hitting and dangerous players last week, Megs, Elena, which suprises me because if memory recalls, she was overpowered by Majoli at the Open only a year ago. What makes her so dangerous? Is she going to be a USTA player dubbed to be great, and then faulter? Lets hope not! GO ASH!

I think the rain soaked courts helped, it made it easier for her to stay in matches she would have other wise been overwelmed in.Maybe thats what the French Open should do so we don't have to suffer through a {YUCK} Williams v Williams final.BOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRIING!!!!

clay, it takes away from the power, you can run down almost everything , and when your opponent is completley off, id have to say that increased your chances from about 10% of winning to aboutt 70% winning :)

What do you have against Ashley?

Even Mary Jo and Pam said she outplayed Bovina, Meg and especially Dani...why cant you accept the fact that she played great and forced her opponents off their game in order to win

BTW...Ashley actually prefers HC's...she won two HC 50K's back to back last summer and one of them she had to qualify ...beating Bartoli and Anca Barna along the way...
