Just checked out the qualifying for Family Circle competition and should Evie get through Round 1 of qualifying she is most likely going to be up against Petrova again. Poor girl needs a break and a bit of an easier draw next tournament we hope. She is probably in the toughest section of the qualifying draw.

Anyway I wish Evie all the best, maybe she can pull off an upset, get thru R1 and beat Petrova in R2.

I just saw Evie and Marion Bartoli play doubles in the Sarasota Classic thursday night and Man! I never knew Evie's forehand was that good  . It was like a whip. She and Marion just made too many errors but she's one of my new faves. Especially loved the "c'mon!" after every good point she plays to get herself jacked up.

Evie must have won her first round of qualifying as I see she is scheduled to play tomorrow. On a positive note for Evie, Petrova has withdrawn so hopefully Evie will be able to get by Robinson tomorrow. I feel she does have a good chance of qualifying for this tournament.

Evie *should* qualify now. Actually I'd be majorly disappointed in her if she loses to Robinson. Robinson beat Wheeler in 3 sets, and I think that was her biggest win so far. Anyway, Evie is favorite to qualify.

Hopefully she is getting inspired by Alicia :)

jean_genie nice to have you on board! Evie is a character out there on court, very hot and cold. Which is why I love her ;) She has a very solid forehand, and there is room for improvement too.

I think Evie is playing good tennis at the moment...here's hoping she can qualify and get a good draw...and also seal a spot in the French Open without the use of a WC.

Evie just lost to Robinson

Without knowing anything about Robinson, it's frustrating that Evie lost this very winnable match. It typifies that particularly when Evie hits the court no match is a certainity.

Capriati pulled out but I think there's a one or two of players ahead of her for lucky loser spots.

Looks like I spoke to soon

What the hell? You'd think Evie would have the gusto to close out such a tight match against a junior...but then again...

Everytime I seem to praise her, she loses  I'll just keep my mouth shut from now on. pfffffffffff

All credit to Robinson, great win for her.
