Hello peoples, just got back from the park...I kinda left early to relax at home since Ive been running to tennis all week (it truly is tiring :p)

Here we go....

Again, I arrived at the park around 10:45. and my first priority was to get a seat for the Nieminen - Clement matchup that would start at 11. As soon as I was through the gates I ran to the court they were playing and luckily it hadnt filled up yet. Let me just say that this morning was brutally hot. Its been hot all week, but this morning was awful. So Jarkko and Arnaud started warming up. There were some old people behind me that were rooting for Jarkko (he actually had a nice crowd behind him today, even though half the people kept asking me who he was :o) Jarkko played pretty well, but Arnaud just didnt look to be there. Im not sure if the heat was affecting him but his play was a little lackluster. They had some decent rallies nothing too exciting, it was a nice match, I just wish Arnaud played better, since Ive seen him produce so much better. On a side note Arnaud is very demanding of the ballkids. The one boy was holding the umbrella for his shade and he snatched it from the kid and told him to hold it this way, lol. It kind of happened regularly like when he would want an ice pack or some drink....very demanding that Arnaud. So Jarkko won handily and was very gracious afterwards and signed everyone's ball and whatever they could. I got some nice close-ups of him. Hes so nice.

Then wandered around a little, caught some of the Fernandez match, and found Ferreira practicing on one of the nearby courts. So then I worked my way over to the grandstand where Nalby was going to play. I got in at the end of the second set of the Shaughnessy matchup. Meghann's body is TIGHT. She and Amelie probably would win the most atheltic body in women's tennis. She had some nice crowd support behind her and I was somewhat impressed with her play. She can really smack that forehand around, but thats probably the best part of her game. I could tell why she would have problems with the power hitters. But she wont hte third set handily. Jidkova is a very pretty girl though and she strikes the ball efficiently, just nothing spectacular about her game. She did need to call a medical timeout in the third because of what appeared to be blisters.

So I ended up getting in the first row since I knew Nalbandian - Saretta would draw a nice crowd. The match brought out a lot of brazillian spectators who were there for the Guga night match but were going to cheer on Falvio. The two players entered and the audience clapped. I only clapped for Nalby :D So play started up and right in the first game with Saretta serving it started raining and the umpire called for play to halt. The rain lasted all of two minutes but was enough to wet the ground...gotta love Florida's wacky weather. So play resumed and Falvio can really strike the ball well and is an excellent mover around the court. David was striking out somewhat on his groundstrokes but that first set was all Flavio. Nalby really wallops that forehand and can volley well. In the second set there was this insane Argentine spectator who constantly was screaming Vamos Argentina. It was hilarious because he was in shouting match with the Brazillians. David got his game together and closed out the second set with an early break. During the third Saretta was getting angered by a lot of line calls and by the argentines. He started yelling back at this guy because he was always screaming VAMOS. VAMOS DAHVEED! VAMOS ARGENTINA VAMOS AHORA!. Flavio yelled at this guy 'PUTA!' :D:D It was great I thought I was in a soccer match. David eventually wont the third set nicely.

Before I move on. David made the biggest fashion faux pas you could imagine. He was wearing the white tacchini outfit with, get this, black/navy blue briefs. His pants became sheer through the match and to be honest he could have just played in his underwear because everyone saw it. Every time he was on my side of the court I was so embarrassed for David, because everyone around me was giggling and laughing about his underwear. Nothing was left to the imagination. I can tell you he has a mole on his lower right buttock thats how see-through those shorts were when wet :o

So I left the grandstand to watch some other matches since I knew Chanda wouldnt really have a problem with Carly. I walked around a little and saw that Felix's match with Wayne had started so I ran over to that court. Poor Felix was getting manhandled by Wayne. He wasnt playing well and toward the end he wasnt even trying to get balls back in play. So then I moved over to see Ruano-Pascual/Suarex won and got a really nice close-up of Virginia :) I then headed towards the Squillari - Robredo matchup. I caught it right towards the end of the second set and poor Tommy lost. Franco was stirking cleanly and Tommy made some really awful mistakes.

After that match I went to see who was praciticing and I saw this topless dude on one th epractice courts and was drawing a slight crowd. The other guy he was hitting with was Roddick. I moved closer and the shirtless one was Ginepri. My goodness, no wonder Germanboy wants a topless Ginepri. That boy is built. He has a better package than JMG I think. JMG has an okay face and nice body but Ginepri (if he gets a haircut) would beat him hands down. I took some photos :D:D:D

Then decided to head over to the grandstand and watch the Safin - Sanguinetti match. On my way there I saw Dementieva practicing with Danillidou. I took some photos of the two of them. Every time I see Elena she reminds me of a stork. I dont know why either :p

So I get to the grandstand and the place I normally sit to get up close and personal was packed so I had to sit up in the bleachers. Poor Chanda was having a hard time closing out the match against Gullickson. But she came through like a trooper and everyone gave her a nice round of applause.

Then came the Safin - Sanguinetti match. This was definitely some of the best tennis I had seen at the tourney thus far. Davide is a counter-puncher and he likes to take the pace off the balls and goes more towards placement. Safin was making errors and in his usual self was doing his theatrics which we all love :D The first set tie-breaker showed some great tennis. On one point Marat was at the net and Davide hit a passing shot which Safin lunged for and tumbled down...there was some question as to weather Marat hurt himself, but he got back up some what slowly and changed rackets. Davide won the tiebreak. Before the second set Marat had called the trainer to do something to his foot (looked like the guy was taping it) So they started the second and Marat broke early. On one of Davide's serve Marat lunged after a crosscourt forehand and looked like he tumbled over himself. He wasnt getting up this time and everyone in the crowd (the place was packed btw) got up, and you could feel the concern in the air. Davide was really classy and ran over to Marat to see if he could help. He helped Safin up and to his chair and they called the trainer out again. This time he taped his entire ankle and foot. Marat broke Davide early, but then Sanguinetti was able to take the break back. Marat was serving at 5-6 to get to a tiebreak but lost his serve and then the match. Poor Marat. Davide was thrilled and so was the crowd just because Marat can come up with beautiful winners from anywhere on the court, and they respected the good tennis.

Was going to step in and watch the rest of the Williams - Asagoe match, but saw that Venus was summarily cruising through that. So, I decided to head hom just so I could be in my apt for one evening to relax :)

Im going to crop a lot of the photos tonight and get them online hopefully for you all. :D:)

Sunday will be the last report  Since Im not going during the second week. Ill be sure to see as much as I can tomorrow

I suppose I should enjoy the pictures you put up today, then, since you won't get to see Jarkko anymore  I'm really glad you became a fan, though :) And I'm glad he's as nice as I thought he was :)

Ah, did this ever bring back memories! LOL

The first time I saw David was in Toronto this past summer, against Robredo in the second round. So I walk over to court two, I'm watching them for a few minutes, and then I noticed "wait a second... does David realize that he's wearing dark blue underwear under white shorts, or is he just totally clueless? :confused"

So then I move on to the Ferrero match a little while later, and the second he walks on court (;)) I notice "wait a second... do Ferrero and David have the same fashion consultant?"

:D

Hackie, I thought you might like that Jarkko picture :D He was shoving his ass up in the air and I couldnt help myself :p
