Coverage begins @ 12:00 pm USA west coast time...will it be a tape delay of the 11:00 am match? Guess they won't be showing Serena.

Usually Jen takes precedence after Andre & Andy. ;)

According the website:

"Sunday will mark the beginning of live television broadcasts as ESPN2 will feature No. 2 Venus Williams against Emmanuelle Gagliardi at 3 p.m. on Stadium Court."

[QUOTE='1jackson2001']Venus is playing two days in a row?

yes, she said so in her interview in GM!! I guess it's the norm for this tourney for her to play two days in a row!! I don't remember last year if she did :p

Since they said we are seeing Venus that can only mean that we are really going to see Mardy Fish (USA) vs Nicolas Escude (FRA) on Grandstand!

I'm confused... It's 2pm Eastern, right now the Lakers and Spurs are on and it's only the 2nd quarter. They keep putting up an "ALERT" that says You are watching the Lakers vs. Spurs for continuing WAR coverage go to ABC. Were the Lakers supposed to be on ABC? The score board shows ABC logo instead of ESPN! I better see some tennis today!

is that on Espn or Espn2

tennis comes on Espn2

also i think Venus has precedence of Mardy Fish
normal viewers would be like, Mardy who?

I told you we would end up seeing Jen. ;) I wish they would show some of the Sarah vs. Ai match.

SerenaSlam

w/out rain we would've saw Venus, but clearly Jennifer would've been the next best choice, seeing throughout the week they will want to show non stop men's coverage, but w/ their seeds starting to drop and dissappear, this tournie is looking like Agassi to win, and they will be forced to show the womens cuz ratings wise we do'nt want to see number 102 vs. 96 :)

ESPN did their usual piss-poor job of covering tennis...cause the rain delay we got to see Capriati, which is okay, only we only got about 30 minutes of the Vee-Em match. Would it have killed them to show the entire thing and postponed golf???

just thought I'd share this: I watched the 2hr coverage. I never turned off the TV in my room and was busy in the other room. I came back and they interupted the Golf to show Venus's score and her waving to the crowd. I swear it was 30 seconds! Unreal! I really think that ESPN shouldn't pick up tennis in MARCH! There is too much going on w/ hockey, baseball Spring Training comes to an end, and of course MARCH MADNESS (NCAA B-ball)! I wish HBO or someone would pick it up!

SerenaSlam
Mar 24th, 2003, 05:07 AM
no lets hope amelie and henin win very, and i mean very quickly, that will hopefully get andre on court before the coverage starts...and are the live tomorrow? if so, then we just might get to see serena, but if they aren't live, no serena, it will definetly be Andre

coverage tomorrow(Monday) begins at 1 pm ET which is 2 hrs after coverage begins. So it looks like we will get to see the tail end of Capriati-Taylor and then some andre coverage ;)
