I had to come on here to brag!

My player, Natalya Pamova, is ranked at a career high 199!!! I am so excited for her.

However, the best news is this:

SHE WON HER FIRST TITLE TODAY!!!!

I didn't expect her to win a title until she was ranked higher but I am so excited! Now I am worried about how she will defend these points next season, lol!!!

She won the Wilson Open and got very lucky, she was the 3rd seed in the main draw but never had to face a higher ranked opponent than herself throughout the entire draw as seeds 1 and 2 were knocked out early. :)

Now tomorrow she plays in only her 2nd GS and she is in the main seed against a Qualifier. I really hope she gets her first ever GS win!!

Congratulations for your title. My player Carlos Spencer recently lost to Lou Selez and bitch (Phillip :p ;)) in eastbourne, defending semis from last year

I'm sorry your player lost out and didn't defend the points.

I think this game is so much fun. Best of luck in your next tournament!

I won 2 titles in the first 3 days of the season to reach a career-high ranking of 61 :bounce:
... of course I haven't got past the second round since then but I expect I'm quite tired from all that winning :D

Anyone playing still? I have a new player who sucks balls! She is ranked 181 now, has no titles and a losing record, haha. I keep trying to get over that hump but no luck and I have horrible luck with the draws. I think my player has 2-3 years left so she better hurry!

I wish history was still working properly, because now you can't see progress over time. :( Is it working for anyone here?

Well, cybertennis isn't running anymore.

But anyways...

This was Delilah Anubis' (playasport) final year as a pro.

She was ranked #3 for the whole year! (Except for 1 week at #4 :( when she lost in the 1r at the French Open (even though she lost at 1r the previous year too).

Even though her Grand Slam record was not great (1r, 1r, SF, 2r), and didn't win one her entire career :(, she just won the YEC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She won 8 titles this year!
First title (defending champion): Tier I Pan Pacific Open (Carpet), defeating then #1 and YE#1 Nathan Cherkov in the final, 5-7, 6-3, 6-2.

Second title (defending champion): Tier II Nice Open (Carpet), defeating top tenner Nathan Chevkov 6-4, 6-3 in the final.

Third title: Tier II Hamburg Cup, defeating Amber Liu 5-7, 7-6(0), 6-1 (Clay). take that for a turn around. (or a choke lol)

Fourth title (defending champion): Tier III Internationaux de Starsbourg (Clay), defeating top tenner S. Laszlo 6-3, 6-4.

Fifth title: Tier III Heineken Trophy (Grass), defeating top tenner A. Morita 7-6(2), 3-6, 6-1

Sixth title (Defending champion) : Tier III Bell Challenge (Carpet), defeating N. Chevkov again, 6-3, 6-3.

Seventh title (Defending champion): Tier II Porsche Cup (Carpet), defeating both A. Morita and S. Lobanova en route.

Eighth title (Finalist last year): YEC

here's the draw:

I. Graf (1)
L. Brianson
H. le Neerlandais
W. Arthurs (8)

s. forget (5)
V. Child
N. Chevkov
R. Luchtmeijer (4)

D. Anubis (3)
A. Björksdóttir
A. Morita
G. Henriquez (6)

S. Laszlo (7)
S. Lobanova
J. Loco
N. Cherkov (2)

I. Graf 7-6 (7-2), 6-2
W. Arthurs 6-2, 6-3
s. forget 6-4, 6-4
N. Chevkov 6-2, 6-1
D. Anubis 6-4, 7-6 (7-5)
G. Henriquez 4-6, 6-4, 6-3
S. Lobanova 6-2, 6-4
J. Loco 2-6, 6-2, 7-6 (7-5)

W. Arthurs 5-7, 7-5, 6-4
N. Chevkov 4-6, 6-2, 6-3
D. Anubis 6-3, 6-3
S. Lobanova 6-3, 6-3

W. Arthurs 6-0, 4-6, 7-6 (7-5)
D. Anubis 3-6, 6-4, 6-1

D. Anubis 6-3, 2-6, 7-5

The fight for #3 was not close at all until French Open (fighting with Rick Luchtmeijer). Then after losing it for a week and then regaining it, it was very close until the end. Because she had finalist YEC points to defend last year, she needed to do very well to maintain the lead above Rick, and she did, by winning! YAY!

Delilah was also never close to #2 or #1 (was close at the beginning of the year, but then eventually lost some ground), but with the win at YEC and the early losses of #2 (Irena Graf) and #1 (Nathan Cherkov) at YEC, she ended just 300 points behind Irena and 600 points behind Nathan, (she ended with 3064).
