They probably spend too much time looking at Anna until she leaves the Miami tennis site. ;)

I heaar that some players are asking to be place on opposite sides of the draw away from certain players and they are triying to accomodate everyone. They are also in the process of waiting for Anna to return from the court house saying she has changed her name to walkover..........

I hate waiting for draws....you figure the smart people at the wta could have completed a new ranking since saturday and wait to adjust only two names on it . That's too easy though I guess.

I spoke with Linnie (who's at the tourney) 10 minutes ago and they'd completed the men's draw but hadn't even started on the women's. They said the women's would be done shortly after the men's. She was very frustrated as the men's draw had been completed for at least 40 minutes and they were removing the tables, instead of getting ready for the women's.

Hopefully we'll see the women's draw soon. *sigh*

I like hanging out on this thread; we can all be grumpy together here. :fiery: :D

It's like arriving at a really bad party, no music, no food, no entertainment, all the guests complaining.

That's all I can say

Nobody knew anything over there!! I would have stuck around, but had to get back to work. Plus just as I was leaving, there was a torrential thunderstorm  (matched my mood ;))

The only thing I remember about the men's draw (besides Federer being there) was that Andy and Lleyton will meet in the semis in the top half, and Andre and Marat will meet in the bottom half. Otherwise, I really didn't care.

I did see Nastya, Maja M. and Jelena D. (snogging her boyfriend  ), and Schiavone practicing.

Rain delay now :(

Linnie
Mar 17th, 2003, 07:44 PM
Not quite like Scottsdale. Here, it'll come down in buckets for about 10 minutes, and stop. Also, it could be raining on one side of the street and be sunny on the other. By the time I got over the causeway bridge, it hadn't even been raining  They've probably started play again.

For not publishing a main draw? Do you think you would even talk to the person that is responsible for the delay? You truly are pathetic.

rain shouldn't stop them from producing the draw...these people are nuts

Do you know AKFan#1, looking at your username I really thought for a moment that you were about to take out your frustration over the delayed draw by putting said firearm to good use in rampaging through the tournament, before I realised that 'AK' actually referred to Anna Kournikova and not the terrorist's weapon of choice, the Kalashnikov. It just shows, the current global situation is getting to me after all.....

I can understand your annoyance Sharky, but are you sure you don't want to go overboard with the emoticons? At the moment they look like they're either entering their death throes or glancing worriedly skywards for the onset of more rain.

The tournaments are under no obligation to get the draw released to the public as soon as it is made I suppose. The draw is to help them plan matches and to inform the players of their opponents. We fans are way down the list of considerations!
