this is the wrong forum...but I was just tortouring myself watching the Jen/Lindsay 3 set match from Indian Wells that ended at 2am east coast.

It just brought back soooo many Evonne Goolagong/Hana Mandlikova/Gabriela Sabatini/Jana Novotna memories.

Yet another player I love that can't keep a f*cking lead.

I bring this up in BFTP, cause after 6 straight very close losses to Serena and countless other 3 set leads (Amelie at the US '02, Henin at Wimb '01, Venus at Miami '01, etc etc) Jennifer is becoming my latest Evonne/Hana and I am pissed.

Obviously I am posting here as well to avoid the idiots in GM, but jennifer represents BFTP for me in many ways. She, along with Monica, is the only link to the late 80's (I know she debuted 03/90..whatever) I have left.

C'mon Jen...win a few of these tough 3 setters and put me in my place!!!!!!!!!

Actually, I think that all the semifinalists at IW are at a low confidence level...Lindsay has lost 5 of her last 6 finals, Kim lost to Sugiyama :eek: and blew the lead against Serena, Jen can't seem to win a close match anymore and Conchita hasn't won a (big) tournament in ages...so I was wondering who would choke more between all of them...

Anyway, it only takes winning a close match to turn things around, so maybe Jen's win is at the corner...

I don't think Kim's confidence is down if it was then she had not won the third set to dechy 6:1 but lost it 6:1 instead.

a low confidence kim was the one at wimbledon last year.

I think Jen will be fine. She definitely knows how to win the big matches except last year I think she felt the pressure a bit and this is one of her early tournies back.

She just needs to get some matches under her belt this year... and as gandalf says it only takes one win. And for someone with capriati's talent I'm sure it's only one win she needs.
