Elena doesn't have a 2nd serve really, her 2nd serves are often pretty big too.
its more mental now that whenever she misses her 1st there's more often than not she will end up DF :(
Plus on the deuce court, her serve only slices and goes out wide really, she doesn't have one down the T

Her serve is holding back the rest of Elena's game! Elena has 2 main problems wirth her serve. First, she doesn't bend her knees when she serves. She has an arm serve. And her ball toss is too low.

Elena needs to hire herself a good professional tennis coach who can help her with her serve. Because her serve is ruining her tennis developement. And that cannot be denied.

How come the same very serve was not a problem back in 2000?

ys, Elena's serve was a problem back in 2000. It just wasn't the huge problem it is now. Her serve let her down bigtime in the U.S. Open semifinals and the Olympic finals. I thought Elena had a bright future in 2000. But she has regressed instead of progressed. And it's her own fault because she refuses to hire a good professional coach who could help with with her serve and other aspects of her game.

Elena is gifted with excellent size, speed and power. And it's inconceivable to me that she hasn't won a WTA title. And with the way things are going for Elena, I wouldn't expect her to win her first WTA title anytime soon. But it's not about winning her first title. It's about how alot fans of hers thought she would be where Kim Clijster's is in the WTA rankings. But it hasn't worked out that way. Elena is a physically blessed as Kim, but she doesn't have Clijster's great desire and will to win. And it shows in her results.
