View Full Version : Is Venus asking for another spanking?

Part of a yahoo article:

Williams welcomed all challenges to her title, even one from sister Serena, to whom she lost in the final of the Australian Open earlier this season.

``If you want to challenge me here, Serena, if you are watching, come on,'' she said.

Venus has been spanked 5 times in a row by Serena including in 4 consecutive grandslam finals. And here she is talking as if she's invincible.

Prediction: Serena will accept Venus' challenge and she will spank her in this tournament too next year... I think Venus is putting too much pressure on herself and she's being overconfident, that can only cause Serena to be more focused and continue dominating her. I can already see Serena's reaction to Venus' comment, something like "oh yeah? I guess you haven't learned yet. Here I'll spank you again until you admit that I'm better".

Well its kind of a lose lost situation.

If she doesn't say something like this, people question how driven she is about her tennis. If she does say something like this, they post threads like this ;)

I think Venus was being sarcastic when she said that...:)

We all know Seles won't be doing the spanking. LOL!

Well up until last year serena was getting spanked by Venus until she spoke out about winning slams. So maybe this will have the same effect for Venus. I'm glad somebody wants to challenge serena

What does Seles have to do with it? Last time I checked she never lost 4 consecutive grandslam finals to the same opponent and then said something to them like "come I'll kick your ass".

Well, Monica hasn't been in any slam finals lately. As a matter of fact, neither has anyone else. LOL!!!

Why must people turn an innocent thread into an invitation to crawl and to hurl personal abuse at others within just a few posts? I want to get back to the original topic of a young woman spanking her older sister, which is rather mentally appealing when you think about it...

Gosh, Venus was just tying to be sarcastic. If you EVER watch Venus's trophy presentations she always wants to be funny.

Wanting to be funny is a long way from being funny.

Yeah... she was just having a little fun with her sister.

I don't think anyone took that seriously.

I didn't see the interview I just read the quote from the article. I didn't know that Venus was joking.

Selesrules, I think it was apparent it was lighthearted. It was a little wierd in print, but still, I think most people understood she was just having a little fun.

She was having a little fun and trying to state the obvious : she will be bringing that beautiful racket home in the next 3 years ... no matter who will be playing in Antwerp! Are you guys sure that Serena will still be playing at that level in 1, 2 or 3 years???

And maybe Serena will come next year! That would be great for Antwerp anyway ...

Maybe you are right, but I don't think so. (I mean about Venus and Serena playing the same tournaments)

Every fan should enjoy the fun years while they can because they are fleeting for nearly every player. I've had my good times, but now I don't have any player... man or woman who is vying for the number one slot. Poor me. lol
